I started compiling the build about 30 minutes ago and I didn't expect it to take anywhere near that long 😭

Yooo I'm glad someone else thought about doing a right-click grab. I know exactly what I'm going to do with this the final day!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to get anything done in time. The burnout from doing back-to-back days with no sleep is very real and hitting me hard today. Think I'm gonna skip out on day 4 and try again tomorrow.

Did anybody end up taking Keep the Light Alive? If not, I might take it day 4.

I haven't started on a project yet either, and I've been struggling to figure out what to do next, so I might check yours out. These are the two Unity projects I've worked on so far:

https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2191672
https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2191676

I'm looking at a lot of these projects, and I honestly just struggle to think on how to improve upon them, probably in part because I'm just not that good at Unity (using now as a chance to learn more tho) and I've never before used Godot. Anybody else in kind of a funk though and not able to think of ways to build upon the day 3 games?

Sadly no games using UE made it past day 2. Nobody wanted to take UE projects day 3. Ngl I'm bummed out because my D1 project was UE and I was really proud of it.

Either my day 2 or day 3 project I would love if someone would continue:

This is actually a hybrid of two different Day 1 projects. It's a card battler, but you have to drive around to pick up cards instead of drawing them normally, and you're racing against the clock.

This is an extension of the mirror world project. It's a puzzle game where you go around collecting items, and you have the ability to create a mirror of your current world by left-clicking. I tried to take it in little more of a story-driven direction.

Yooooo I'm so glad someone picked this up day 3

It looks like none of the UE projects are being continued past day 2 😭

I expanded upon this for my day 3 project

I really like the Japanese influence you took and I tried to build on it a bit further

I expanded upon the world mirroring game and leaned further into the Japanese influence. I tried to go for a game that's about crossing over into the afterlife, but I definitely was too ambitious for the amount of time I had.

Also sharing my own project. Would greatly appreciate if our Unreal Projects continued, even if just a little further. If anybody knows anyone who would be even a little interested in UE dev, let them know!

Here's mine!

I took both Drifty Car and A Slime Appears and combined them into a single project on my day 2. It's a card battler where you have to drive around to pick up cards before you run out of time.

I know there's only 15 minutes remaining, but I hope you're able to get something in for my project before day 2 is up as well.

This is my day 2 version of the project

Sadly it's not quite as much as I was hoping to do, but this is what I was able to get done today

I started development on that before you posted your project day 1 and figured I'd just go ahead and finish/submit it. But I have a little extra time and I'm going to try to also work on yours. We're allowed to do multiple submissions.

I'm going to try to work on your project before the deadline today. As far as I know, nobody has taken mine.

Check the full description for the GitHub link!

Update: I did it

I actually just uploaded it :)

Don't tell me what you think, that's illegal

I'm gonna blame the sleep exhaustion from day 1 on why my brain thought it'd be smart to combine the two most unrelated day 1 projects I could find. But given how I haven't touched Unity in about 7 years, I'm proud that I was able to almost make a cohesive experience here.

I'm gonna pick this project up, but I'm gonna pull a Dypsloom and go all Noot Noot Destroyer with it by combining it with Drifty Car. https://itch.io/jam/day-1/rate/2188074

It's going to be weird, but I'm doubling down on this.

Here is the game I made

Game jams are the perfect time to learn some new skills!

I'm one of the very few people to use Unreal Engine, but if anybody happens to be knowledgable in multiple engines, it'd mean a lot to me if someone were to continue working on this one. I cranked out a lot of hours to get a ton of features in like basic AI and splitscreen play. It's a racing game where you leave a trail of paint behind you as you drive, and you get rid of enemy paint when you drive over theirs.

Bless you. I thought I was going to be the only one.

RIP me being the only Unreal Engine submission day 1

Question in the title. No spoilers, but I saw two projects that I both liked and couldn't pick which one I wanted to do for day 2, and I had an idea on how I could combine them.
