Thank you for your reply.

I might try that one instead, and I'll check out the mod you're talking about as well, thank you for the tip!

I followed the tutorial, it took me about 2 hours to go through so I probably forgot some stuff at the start. :P

Don't worry about it. I knew what could happen when posting here and I didn't assume people would not do it. :)

I took a quick check but the time on easier difficulty don't seem that different at all, though I will check in a new game if it has anything to do with that, tomorrow as I'm too much of a wimp to travel from start to the base this late at night (real life, 22:00)! :P

Again, don't worry about spoiling me. If it's something super spoiler'y, then I can probably stop reading most of it if that was to happen! :D

Still, thanks!

The difficulty makes the game days longer or shorter? Huh, didn't think about that, at all. I need to check it out, thank you for telling me that! :D

(1 edit)

Yes, I tried to read a little into this. And it seems to be a lot of issues.

But as I don't like being spoiled (I'm very easy spoiled) I hoped this game worked with that in mind, that there are people who, maybe aren't just like me but enough so to also feel like everything happens way too quickly.

And I assumed that I don't have to do all the tasks, but I'm also somewhat of a roleplayer and want to "play the role." I also don't want to do the "best thing that earns the most money," or something like that. I don't read guides, I don't watch videos, and I don't try and min-max stuff in games. I just want them to not be over too quickly as if I was expected to do such a thing.

While what you wrote about stuff by the rivers are what I'd call spoilers, I do not think it is anyone's fault than mine because I am the one coming to this forum. And I can't expect people to hide everything I find as spoilers, even less so when I find almost everything as spoilers (even knowing that you have the ability to throw stuff would be a spoiler to me). :P

And it's good to hear that I'm not the only nervous gamer. I love horror games, even when they torment me so! :P

What I hope with this game is another sort of not assuming that all players will play at such speed that there are spooky events every hour or so. I'd love for the spooky stuff to be something that only happens after several in-game days so you can feel like your character doesn't live in some insane fun-house circus where all sort of weird things happen every day. It would feel too weird to me if it happened that often. :/

I don't really want to play without the story or spooky events, just that they don't happen all the time. If they do, that is.

Anyway, thank you for wanting to make a list, but as you might have read and understood by now, I would probably find it too much of a spoiler. I want to be surprised by the game and what happens in it. I want to be the one who finds that good item to sell, or how the day-to-day task is best handled over time, naturally. Yes, I'm probably weird but that's how I like it…playing the game not the weird bit! :P

EDIT: Also, thank you for the reply, I forgot to write that one, sorry!

Thank you for the reply.

I read the warning on the file, but, I guess, I didn't think it was that bad. I don't really mind it neither, it was just how quick each day was. I kinda assumed the speed is how it was intended to be. And I wanted to give my opinion that for me, a new player, one who also spend a lot of time to do stuff like enjoying the ambiance, the day-night cycle was way too fast.

I'm sure I'm slower than normal players, but as a new player, every system will take a lot of time to figure out and, if I had to make a guess, it'll take like 10 in-game days for me to understand how to download signals, pack them and send them, and then how the food and stamina system works. And, probably, even longer for anything outside the base.

Still, I hoped there was some hidden setting where I could just add in a new number in some INI file somewhere. If not, then I guess I'll wait a little longer, or lots longer, for a more stable version. I just want to take my time in the game. :)

Thank you for the reply!

I saw that there was some sort of slider to increase/decrease in-game time but I couldn't change it yet as it's locked behind a specific in-game day? I don't know how much you can change it by, but if I can at least double the pace of each day, I can probably handle it, though I'd probably want speed closer to 3 or more times slower (sorry for the use of units).

Though, if it's bugged and doesn't work, then I guess I have no choice than to wait, and I assume you don't know how long it'll be until it's fixed? I was waiting to play this game for something like a year after learning of it, mostly because I was collecting myself to dare play it! :P

At the current speed, I just can't keep up with how fast the game wants me to be. I'd probably not chance that opinion even if I knew how to play the game as I like slower paced games in general.

Thank you for the reply.

I don't really understand what you wrote, are you saying that the longer the days, the harder the game becomes?

I'm one of those gamers that likes to stand and watch something for 10+ minutes, but in this game, those 10 minutes are a rather large part of the in-game day.

I try and not spoil the game as I'm very sensitive to such things. I noticed that there are upgrades to buy in the game, time saving upgrades for the computer and whatnot, but, sadly, it still wouldn't make the days any longer. I want to enjoy each day but at the moment, the stress is killing me, or at least my nerves as while I do want to experience some spooky events, I would never be able to handle them happening once per hour or so because of how fast each day races past me. :/

Greetings.

I've known of this game for some time but I didn't try it before now. But I'm having a very rough time enjoying this game (sim type?) as the days in the game are over way too quick. When I got to the Base, looked around, found a bed, placed down the bag, and started downloading my first signal, it was already something like 17:00. I had the impression that you would be doing mundane tasks and having lots of free time each day, but for me it's been nothing but a stress-rollercoaster where I run as fast as I can all over the place, trying to find the stuff and/or to fix something.

I'm in no way a quick gamer and I know I'm probably in the minority, but, to me, I'd probably need each in-game day to be increased by like 2-5 or maybe even 10 times for me to enjoy this game. And I don't know how often the spooky events happen, I hope they don't occur more than once per in-game week or so, but I doubt it. Though, I'm not expecting this to be the case, I'd just want a much slower game experience.

Anyway, I'm interested in knowing if there's a way to lower the speed of the in-game day and night cycle. I'm waaay too scared to go outside at night so that leaves only the sun-part of the days which are over in the flash of my bad eyes, more often than not because the character's stamina reduces really quickly and I can't guarantee being awake at the correct time. I hope there's a setting or something because I just can't enjoy this game as it is. My eyes and nerves aren't made for these sorta fast-paced games! ;)
