Can you explain the softlock issue? I didn’t have a lot of time to test the game myself.

On day 5, only two books appeared for the quota. After collecting those two books, no new books appeared on the screen, making the quota impossible to attain as there wasn’t a way to make money. I quit the game shortly after that.

Yeah, I really should have focused on that mechanic more. Level design isn’t one of my strong suits - I was struggling (and procrastinating) with coming up with new levels that were interesting, but I’m probably making excuses.

Thanks for playing

Yes, it was on purpose. Probably should have had a ‘the end’ screen, but yeah

Nice game.

Quick question. Is there supposed to be a threat? I when through to day 5 without seeing a thing (before getting softlocked because there were no more books to attain quota with)

Very fun.

Only nitpick I have is that score should probably be based on distance travelled instead of time survived, purely so that the speed boosts have a positive impact on score (instead of making the game harder with no upside). Still good regardless.

You haven’t uploaded your game correctly - you only included the exported .pck file. Upload a .zip file containing both the .exe and .pck files.

No idea what you’ve done, but you have not exported this correctly.

Thanks! I just released an update if you’re interested. The build that was on itch.io previously was old

Did you try run it on a school computer? With my school at least, the game gets completely blocked by the firewall.

Yeah, there's not much I can do about bad RNG. Although, you can sneak path the hanging enemies by moving slowly past them (they won't see you and won't attack). I don't blame you for not knowing that though- it isn't stated or taught anywhere.

You uploaded the editor files, not the exported game

Yeah doesn't work

You didn't update this. It seems you still have your Sprint 2 version as the download, instead of your Sprint 3 version

Hey. Sprinting while moving diagonally backward (i.e. holding S+A or S+D while sprinting) crashes the game, you might want to fix that.

Also, if you're worried about itch.io displaying the game differently like you say on your game page, I'd recommend exporting your game as a downloadable executable instead of HTML. That should fix the visual errors.

You uploaded your game incorrectly. The .pck file is missing

You didn't upload a game

You didn't upload your game, there's nothing here

You didn't include a download with this

Your downloadable game doesn't work. You need to upload a zip folder with the .exe and .pck files for a Godot game.
