Menu and starting the game has awesome animation and the music is nice :D
I like the shop and of course crumbs number goes up feels good!
A couple of notes:
- I had a bit of trouble figuring out what the optimal strategy was, it was hard to see how many crumbs I got every round.
- I wanted to read about the items in the shop but they rotate every 10 seconds or so? And the game doesn't pause when shop is open.
Maybe a message showing +x crumbs at the end of each timer could help and maybe pause time when shop is open.
That's good to hear! With no tutorial and jumping straight into the gameplay I am glad it was no problem for you =(^_^)= I will make sure to drop by your page as well and check out your game when I get the time! Let me know if there's something you would have liked to add or change to make my game more fun!
Hehe glad the gamblers wibes were positively received, I love myself a good roguelike with some exciting options and rewarding growth.
I will make sure to check out your game as soon as I have time too! Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if you have anything specific you would have changed or added to the game as well to make it more fun =(^_^)=
You are the first to notice, or atleast explicitly mention, that the reward is indeed greater when you risk more. It was a decision I made from the theme and I am glad you caught on :D I am happy for the positive feedback! Please let me know if there's something I could do better as well. If I get some free time tonight I will make sure to check out your game too =(^_^)=
It's my first game jam so the game is perhaps not as big as many others, but it's a fun roguelike based on taking risk.
How greedy can you get away with being as you grab biscuit from the mousetrap?

If anyone drops a comment with feedback and a rating I will check out your game and do the same :D
Love the art, how the scenes change, the music and the humor. This is incredibly well done.
The story building is nice and it really gives you motivation to solve the case.
That goes for the second case as well.
The game could benefit from running a quick spelling check on the text you put in the game, you can do so with chat gpt, a spell checker or even word.
When solving the case it would perhaps make more sense to leave the selection of the culprit as the last slide, currently the detective notes comes after the selection of the culprit.
Bravo :)
Glad you liked it!
I used www.soundimage.org and www.pixabay.com for music and sounds :)
Awesome job :D Nice music, Such a fun way of utilizing the mouse for casting spells!
Mechanics:
Spells
The wand is very fun to use, reminds me of fruit ninja where you slize fruits with your finger.
Perhaps if you fight fire enemies and projectiles the water should remove the projectile in its entirety as it seems too much to extinguish and swap wands to destroy singular projectiles. But it is fun that there is a mechanic to douse water on those and yourself and not only on the enemies. On the enemies themselves I really don't mind using two different spells to defeat them.
Dash
The dash mechanics looks and feel pretty good, its fun moving fast and you are inclined to go fast when there's nothing around. This does however end up having you fly into enemies, projectiles or other hazards very easily as you enter new areas. Especially since you are moving towards the edge of the screen while dashing. Which then makes the optimal strategy on the first playthrough to not use dash at all, especially since checkpoints are not that common. While dash is a nice addition on repetitive playthroughs.
Perhaps if the camera was in front of the player while dashing we could see where hazards were. Or if we were more zoomed out or the dash was slightly shorter.
The camera would be nice in front of the the player in the direction you are moving when going slow as well, it is too easy to run into something when the camera lags behind.
Sounds
Love the music! It's a nice tune.
Sound effects have not been added yet? Things like casting the spell and hitting an enemy could help drastically with gameplay feel and would be a very short implementation. I.e. you already know when enemies take damage so just trigger a hurt sound when it happens. This also creates clarity for the player when you damage things.

How did you do so much for a game jam?? I don't know how you were able to get it all done but great job :)
Difficulty:
I don't think the game is too hard. But I think the visibility is too bad and that makes the game hard. Keep the difficulty, zoom out or give better visibility somehow.
8/10
Check out my submission if you like as well, it is much much smaller than your project =(^_^)=
