Absolutely unique and unsettling!

There has been so much love going into this and it shows, the game looks amazing(given the aesthetic of choice), sounds great, plays as intented, the pacing is proper, playtime no longer or shorter than needed, the story is not THE most unique but the execution and delivery are fantastic, with the added attempt at "worldbuilding" which could combine future projects, the antagonist is uniquely creepy and some events that happen in the game are not afraid to go hard and brutal. All in all, one of the best in the scene, that I've played lately. Keep up the good work, mate! Cheers!
Oh, definitely that would work nicely, plus it would add another element of "resource management", so to speak, by giving the player limited time to explore their current surroundings. On top of that, you could possibly have the creatures attracted to the braziers/torches while they are producing light, making the situation feeling even more urgent, but I'm not sure that would be appropriate story-wise, since I know little about the Jikininki folklore and if they hate light and/or fire.
Folklore with survival horror is always a fantastic combination and this game is proof of that. Loved the atmosphere, loved the premise, the map is not THAT huge after you understand how to navigate it, graphics are lovely and no major bugs to spoil the experience. Still there are a couple things that I would personally like to see implemented. First, make the game just a tiny bit brighter or make the flashlight function differently. Yes the game is SUPPOSED to be dark, but we are also supposed to be able to see something XD. A third option to "fix" this, is to make the braziers that are scattered around the map interactable so we can light them up. Second, I was kind of dissapointed that we didn't get a visual of the monster when it gets us. I hate jumpscares, but in this case it would work fantastically, maybe even not a visual but more intense and visceral audio elements of the monster attacking us. Of course, this is a game that was submitted for a game jam, and with that in mind it's more than "good", yet if you'd like, keep my suggestions for your future projects. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Interesting prologue for a series that could have great potential. Straightforward and dark. Could use some improvements, atmosphere-wise, like better sound design and adding a couple buildings at the "mission" part of it, but still, the game delivers. Looking forward to the next chapters, keep up the good work, mate! Cheers!
At first I thought it wouldn't be my type of game, given the "stealthy" approach it demands, but honestly, this was fantastic. Spooky atmosphere, not too harsh enemies(if you learn how they work), looks and sounds good, a simplistic story but it wouldn't need anything more and it doesn't drag on too long. If I'd change anything, that would only be the intro soundbite, it gets a bit too repetitive given how many times I had to restart XD. Other than that, nothing to add, a great short horror experience, that does many things right. Keep up the good work, mate! Cheers!
Very promising demo, already the atmosphere is spooky and the story is building up to something interesting, looks and sounds great, fantastic addition of the mini-games and also I personally loved the opening and the feeling of "other people in this neighborhood" that came off of that, probably intending to make the sense of isolation greater in the full release. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Who's the best girl? Pepper's the best girl! And her monster clone is also the best girl! Nothing to really add to this game, it looks and sounds good, works as intended, doesn't drag on for too long nor is it too short, appropriately spooky and a vague, head-scratching ending. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Fantastic short for a game that utilizes the gory approach to horror, loved the atmosphere, both visuals and sound design, the premise is solid and there seems to be something very interesting with the story. Still, if I'd like one thing "fixed", that's the blocking, it seems that the time window for that is a tad bit too short. All in all, a very promising project! Keep up the good work! Cheers!
The concept is really interesting and the atmosphere is quite spooky, both visuals and sound design. Still, a couple things I wouldn't mind changing is the movement speed and better indications on current tasks. All in all, a fun horror demo, promising a fantastic full game! Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Fantastic game, short sweet and to the point, the monster is neither too dumb nor too smart and its speed is not punishing, while also being quite spooky at some points. The area is quite small, making the process less tedious, and the needed items are quite nicely spaced out. All in all, a great horror short! Keep up the good work, mate! Cheers!
Given the premise that you provided, I can see this going places. It already doesn't feel like "mindless killing"(if we take into account the backstory) and, honestly, I loved the simplicity of it. Still, it does need some more gameplay mechanics and lore for the full version, which I'm surely looking forward to! Keep up the good work, mate! Cheers!
