Thank you!! I enjoyed your game a ton as well

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it

I'm really sorry, we have no idea what happened..If you still can't get it to work, but want to see the story and things, here's a link to a letsplay:

I'm really sorry that happened! I don't know how to fix it, but I did talk to Trinket (the person who programmed the game) to see if I can get any answers as to why.  If we can find anything I'll let you know^^

Thank you so much!!

tyty!!

I think its paced pretty good, personally!! It gives you time to get to know the character of Death and the premise of the show, shows you the minigames, and doesn't overstay its welcome. As a dev it's pretty easy to get a skewed perspective on things like that (at least in my experience) and be overcritical of your work, but I think you did an awesome job.

Extremely fun and creative! The controls are jank but in just the right way - makes it challenging and satisfying when you do manage to flop around in exactly the right way. Those fishermen will never recover from everything I took from them.

There's a ton of people in this thread already, but if you're still looking, I'd absolutely love it if you gave Porcelain Doll a shot! https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3930903

Thank you!!

Overall a really fun game!! The voice acting was a highlight and definitely gave the whole experience even more personality than it already had - my one note is that I wish that there were subtitles, and maybe a few more talksprites for Death. It was a great experience, though, and super impressive considering the 5 day time limit!! The art was great, the music was great, the minigames were great, the whole thing was a great time. The fishing minigame did feel a little janky (specifically with the speed of the line) and I had difficulty catching anything that wasn't right at the top because the bad fish moved so quick compared to the controls, but that could just be a skill issue on my part. I look forward to see what you put out in the future!!

Thank you so much!! I'll go check out yours now o7

It's exactly what it says on the tin, and it's incredible. I spent more time on this than I'd like to admit - the mechanics are incredibly satisfying, and remind me of something that I would have found on coolmathgames as a kid (in the best way possible). The sound design is fantastic, too, and really makes you feel like you're whackin some blocks with a pickaxe. Overall an incredible experience and one that I will be recommending to several friends!

currently living this exact same thing, sorta helped get out some of the feelings haha

thank you. this was a beautiful game

this looks incredibly helpful however i dont have a windows device, would you ever consider making a version for mac? if not does anyone know anything similar for mac (im a bit too smallbrain to figure out renpy on my own haha)

hey, thank you so much for your review and constructive criticism! the thing with the clashing art styles is because the cgs were done by me and the sprites were done by trinket.  hopefully in any future projects we can make it blend a little smoother, haha!  thank you for your kind words and hopefully we can implement some suggestions in any future projects.

yeah!! you are incredibly talented and i am so excited to see what else youll make in the future

overall it was decent! the gameplay was fairly basic, as was the story, and i do think that the keycards and codes could have been better implemented, but i liked it well enough.  one lil suggestion for ya: sound design is very important for building an atmosphere.  you dont necessarily have to have bgm, but some difference in sound for walking on different tiles, the creaking of the walls, dripping water, rustling of paper...it all could come together to make this an even better game.  im looking forward to see what you end up doing in the future, though!

this is a fantastic game! my only complaint is that the navigation in the tapes is a little hard, but...thats probably just a me thing, im bad at navigating in real life as well haha..loved the story, loved the presentation, and the sound design was absolutely an unsung hero of this, especially with the mother.  fantastic game, fantastic presentation, i think this is my favorite submission in the jam (and i helped make one of them)
