Most definitely.

In the meantime, I am focusing on replicating the same process I used for this jam, and further my learning on new projects until the next one. in June. The aspect of reusable modules/code is what I want to emphasize. From the work I produced this round, I see parts that are more easily reusable than others. For those that are less reusable, my initial feeling is that I'll have to redo a good portion of it for other projects, so I need to figure out how to better design my code to increase its reuse and extensibility.

That is a nice prototype. Short and sweet. I see the potential there to expand. Great job.

Impressive enough that you made your own game engine. The rhythm aspect is nice; I was head-bobbing a bit trying to get the timing right.

Nicely done. Now you have 6 months to continue your journey for the next one.

About 100hrs.

I effectively spent an additional 8hr dev day after my regular 8hr day job. Then half  to 3/4 of my weekend. In my case, I hadn't made a game before and had nothing to start with - everything was from scratch. Coming from having done tutorials to understand Unity, I knew I just had to continue learning the absolute basics and most critical components. I focused my energies exclusively to complete a prototype, with an emphasis on game mechanics (putting aside art, music, sound, controls schemes, options, etc.).  Even though I did accomplish my goal (yay!), I did not expect it would have taken the amount of effort I put into it. The experience has leveled me up and the community has been awesome. People's submissions have been impressive and inspiring (for all teams inexperienced like me and experienced).

Thanks for the post!

First here, too! I feel accomplished for making my first game. Very proud of my prototype - all from scratch.
