Sad that you lost the sources, would have probably been a good resource for further games in the theme! Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be possible to remove the container from the cooking view. But I found my own way…
I had already started investigating the save files with a binary editor (WinMerge is nice) and at the end, I created three save files where the only thing I did in the game was to add one pot to the container view. Thus I found two locations where the number had grown by one in both cases, 79d6 and 7f48 (I seemed to had already 10 pots there at the end). Just set those both locations to zero and now it works again! Just tested creating new pots and a soup, I hope I didn’t break anything… will keep the original save files just in case.
BTW I’m a big fan of all of your games… well, all the adventures and visual novels. Found first the old Dread and got hooked. Your own worlds are great, I’ve liked those as much as these LotR, Trekkie etc. things you’ve done.

Marvellous game! I just got into trouble that I can’t produce any food to a pot anymore. Whenever I open Kitchen, it’s showing already pot as a container. If I try to produce something to a pot (e.g. soup) I get the fail sound no matter if I add there a pot or try without adding it. I can still put there any other container and it works fine, only pots won’t. In addition, whenever I add a pot there, it disappears from my inventory, for good.
I might have accidentally put there several pots when it started. Hmm… the same seems to happen with other containers as well, put several in, those disappear from Items and cooking fails, then it never works again. And stupid of me, overwrote both saved games… so if there’s a way to fix this I’d be happy to hear. :) Otherwise I try to complete the game without pot foods… too far already to start again soon.
Tip for other players: be careful when adding a container in the kitchen.
