The progress you are making is insane! I am super impressed - particularly as a Freelancer Fan

Idu community · Replied to epcc in Demo 8

Ah, good to know I need sand to plant and that I can smash blocks - didn’t know that! I’d that also how I get metal etc? Because I could not build ladders because of lack of materials.

Regarding Mouse: I have a Logitech MX Master, which, I would say, qualifies as a generic mouse. I never had any problems with it before. I run windows 11.

Appreciate your answer!

I have been waiting to play Idu for quite some time! Love the visuals and particularly the idea!

A couple of things I would like to provide as feedback:

  1. There seem to be issues with picking up things. I seem to only occasionally be able to pick up sandbags. Other materials stop to be picked up after some time. It’s not obvious to why
  2. I could not find out how to place plants. Perhaps I need to go all the way to the top of the structure?
  3. Going all the way up the structure is super tedious. I did not have enough time and patience to pull it off 😬
  4. Mouse wheel on the menu selection seems inverted. If I scroll down, I want it to scroll down.

Let me know how the video helped (or if it didn’t 😂).

I love the feedback and you already made it clear that I have to provide better usage instructions in the packages.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for giving godot-playfab a go!

Not sure what you did, but the AssetLib version has no demo scene. The scenes that are in the package are only there to extend the editor and are not meant to be used in a game. In fact, they can’t, as you can see in the error messages.

If you clone the GitHub repo, you can just open it up as a Godot project and hit play to see examples.

In terms of a setup video I have good news! On my stream, I did a walk-through and captured that specific part. You can find it here. Let me know if that’s helpful!

Hey there! I was thinking about whether you got it to work the other day! I’ll try and send you a private message. I’d love to help you get this to work.

Fixed - new release uploaded to itch!

Thank you so much for reporting this!

Btw, the config file is located in the user’s game data folder, which you can open via the Godot Editor:

(1 edit)

This is expected. The config file does not exist on the first launch. It is there to persist login data in an encrypted format.

But this is good feedback - I should remove the debug print 😂

Created a tracking issue: https://github.com/Structed/godot-playfab/issues/48

Hi - thanks for giving godot-playfab a spin!

I just realized I neglected the itch.io page 🥺 There have been quite a few changes. Can you please go to the GitHub repository and use the new instructions?

I’ll update the itch.io page soon.

Thanks for the feedback! Let me know if you need any more help an/or file an issue on GitHub!

Yes, you could think of it like that, but much more aimed at games and with deeper integration for games - but then I’m biased and much more familiar with PlayFab ;-)

Lol! In short words: PlayFab is a backend as a service.

Thanks a lot for that positive feedback!

Indeed I accomplished my goal of dabbling with Godot, and it has been by FAR the most positive experience (comparing to Unreal and Unity).

However, if at some point time allows, I want to add a lot more to the game, including proper mobile/web support.

Essentially, it should be similar to Moorhuhn.

I am also thinking about a competitive multiplayer, which is also couch playable.

But time and other projects… ☺️

Laughed so hard! Thank you!

Wow! First time Godot use? That is impressive!

Updated with HTML5 build!

tbh, I didn't test on Linux, as I only run on Windows. Might be able to do this via a VM at the end of the jam.

Goal for today is to figure out how to publish HTML to Itch :-)

Thanks for the feedback!
