No hard feelings here! Just saw some other people wondering where that scene went, so I figured it might had been the same. We get a lot of people asking why we removed scenes from OG when they were in fact from Revisited, so I wanted to make sure.

As for the orientation, I think it's a different take on the same idea. We definitely play a lot more around it than the original did, but I like to think it makes the cast richer than everyone being extremely gay, and especially for Hiroyuki. You're free to disagree, of course!

And here's hoping we don't disappoint with Carlos, but I think part of his appeal is that he doesn't let people in that easy, hehe.

I appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you liked the way we expanded the character!

However, if you're referring to the easter egg where you can find a sex toy in Kounosuke's room, it's something we added back during Revisited and was never present in the original. People often mistake additions we made to Revisited as being present in the OG Morenatsu, but I'm pretty certain if you're referring to that scene, it was added by us. The reason it's not in the game anymore is simply that most of the route got rewritten and it didn't really fit in with the new one.

As for his orientation, If i recall correctly (and SPOILERS for the original ahead, of course), Kounosuke in the original game wants to be the "seme" (top) and reluctantly becomes the bottom. I could be wrong as it's been a while since I played, but he only accepts his "bottom" orientation on the day Hiro departs, leaving him a note promising to be the bottom next time.

Hopefully the clarification helps a little bit to understand how Kounosuke is portrayed in Homecoming!

Definitely don't want to give the wrong idea here. I rely pretty heavily on the engine to do the heavy lifting for accessibility features, so there's no "alt text" labels or control status indicators. Keyboard support seems to function exactly the same as the gamepad support, meaning you can use arrow keys to navigate menus and press space bar to confirm/proceed to next dialogue, but certain menus are still going to require input from a mouse.

By default, the Renpy engine has support for self voicing (press V on the keyboard at any time to activate it) and controller support for the vast majority of cases. In my experiences testing the controller support, there are one or two menus that don't play well with it and may need a mouse to navigate, but moment to moment gameplay is completely accessible with a controller.

Thank you for this, and for reversing your rating. I'm sorry for how I acted, too. I guess we both ended up acting on heightened emotions without all the facts. I just saw someone coincidentally posting the same sort of thing at around the same time as you and assumed you were one and the same.

I'll lift your ban so you can delete the comment.

I looked into it and it turns out the lead developer for the Renpy engine has discontinued all support for 32-bit systems. Unfortunately, this seems to be completely out of my hands. Sorry about that! ^^'

Nice catch! Thanks for the report!

Can't say I know for sure at this point. He's definitely a lot more popular than some of the alternatives in the side cast, but it was never my intent as a developer to have love interests outside the main cast. I'll admit I'm quite a fan of the wolf myself, so we'll have to see how things develop and grow over time before I make a decision one way or the other on this topic.

Carlos is the tallest member of the main cast.

I've been juggling the idea of making a neutral route that focuses just on the main plot for those who aren't interested in the romance content. Just a concept right now, but we'll see if there's enough demand for something like that.

Thank you for your feedback, it's always fun to read people theorizing about the game hehe

Next Patreon build (September's) will go back to Bryan's route, and then Carlos will follow, finishing with Nate like we did for the previous act.

As of a couple builds ago, the scene has been removed.

It was delayed. Should be in the next build.

The CGs will be added later on, I haven't had the time to work on them yet unfortunately.

Thanks for the extended feedback!

Just a couple points to note, we still do make some changes when porting from Revisited to Homecoming, it's not a straight copy/paste, and Revisited itself was a fairly major rewrite of the original text, so there's quite a few changes already present there (like Tatsuki's alcoholism being a challenge to overcome for him instead of a quirky trait).

As for the future routes, some of them *are* getting rewritten, but not all. Kouya, Shun and Kounosuke are all getting rewritten entirely, as we felt the others were strong enough to stand on their own with only tweaks and minor rewrites here and there to the actual story.

Just a few point I wanted to iron out, but we're grateful of everyone's feedback hehe

The Android Santa Lucia metadata bug should be fixed. I recommend everyone who downloaded Build 10 for Android earlier redownload and reinstall it.

Muchas gracias por la reporta!

Hey! It's based on a private university Dzahn attended while in California. A majority of the backgrounds are actually pictures we took together of said university (mixed with a couple of other universities from around Cali).

Thank you very much!

Heya! I'll copy /paste another comment I left as it addresses the issue you've brought up:

"Soutarou is indeed taller in this sprite. He was very small in the original due to him being more of a shota type character, and while we didn't keep that characteristic in Revisited, he ended up looking fairly small due to how the sprites were rendered onscreen. With the new sprites, we're making everyone take more real estate on the screen, as well have decided to represent Soutarou being aged up by making him look his actual age, and so the difference might seem a bit stark compared to the other unfinished sprites."

So, long story short, he's indeed taller but for two very different reasons, and would have appeared taller even if we had kept him at the exact same size as our previous version of Soutarou.

I do think his taller appearance fits him more as he appears in Homecoming personally, hehe.

As of now, Kouya and Shun's routes will be changed, with Shun receiving the most change.

We do make all of our own soundtrack, with a big part of the tracks for Santa Lucia being composed by Dzahn, and the rest by our fellow StormSinger member, Hop-Skip & The Chewtoys.

They refer to the in-game dates. For example, Act 1 starts with Ben on the plane in the early morning of September 1st and ends in the forest of Cambrion Valley on September 8th.

The inconsistency is intentional.

I'll assume you're playing on Android since only Android users seem to have issue with this.

In order for Android to properly register the installation of the new build, you first have to completely uninstall the previous build. This is a quirk of the Ren'py engine that I have no control over, unfortunately.

There's also a good chance you'll lose your save data doing this. I recommend backing them up beforehand. They can be found on most Android devices in the "Data" folder of its storage section.

I can understand your concerns on the sizes, but this was a move we chose to give everyone's sprites more room to shine. As you pointed out, the old sprites had wild differences in size between each other, while this one will "streamline" everyone. There will still be size differences (Aichi is still huge compared to Kounosuke), but less pronounced (no more Shun barely poking out of the dialogue box).

Do keep in mind everything we're doing as of now is a work in progress. There's a likelihood we'll revisit everyone's individual sizes once every sprite is fully implemented in the game (I have sketches ready for every character I'm working on, but it can be deceiving at times), and feedback will be taken into account then, but as of now, we'd rather leave things as they are before over-correcting in any particular direction. While you might say the sprites are more problematic now, a lot of people have said the exact same thing about our previous sprites (not a lot of people saw our old Torahiko as "fit", but rather described him as "anorexic", for example), and just as many have voiced their appreciation over the new designs. We're always willing to listen, but unfortunately, everyone has an opinion and we do have to make our choice at a certain point.

Finally, I'd disagree on Kounosuke not being chubby anymore, having drawn him myself. Maybe his stance covers that a bit, but I'd say he looks similar, if not ever so slightly heavier than our previous version, especially when the clothes are off, so to speak.

Hey, Devilizer here!

Thanks for the feedback! I understand it's a controversial change, and everyone's opinions is valuable to us, but the changes were made both to revert some (very) unpopular design decisions, as well as make the art more manageable to Nova and I. The old sprites were a lot more time consuming than we foresaw them ever being, and we both decided to change them to something more easily manageable. In doing so, we changed a few design elements here and there (but kept some of our own design ideas, like Kouya's earrings) and the changes have been for the most part welcomed by players.

I understand an art style shift mid project is upsetting for a lot of people, and as a small team, it was a hard choice to make, and we ultimately decided it would be the best course of action if we wanted to be done with the project within a reasonable time frame. Please understand we're trying our best to accomplish our vision and satisfy as many people as possible, and that sometimes mean we have to make hard decisions. This was one of them.

Cheers,

Dev

(I posted this on the main page, but I'll post it here in reply to you as it's related so more people can see it!)

Hey there!

While we've indeed cut the sprites off at waist-level, this wasn't done in a move to get rid of the NSFW content, but simply for practicality's sake, as it made some of the smaller character barely peek through the dialogue box. Resizing them would have and having them keep everything below waist-level made some of them look freakishly large, so we've decided to follow in OG Morenatsu's footsteps, and cut them at the waist.

Thank you all for understanding, - Devilizer

I've addressed the longstanding bug that required players to restart their game every time a new build releases. You should be able to continue where you left off, though if it doesn't work please be sure to tell me so I can figure out what went wrong!

Heya! I realize I've been missing out on a bit of conversation by not checking into itch.io for a while, haha.

I expected Carlos's sprite rework to be a bit controversial since he's pretty different from his original, and I understand why some of you are disappointed with the rework.

I tried to emphasize his grumpy, almost undecipherable expressions Ben complains a lot about, but in doing so, I realize expressions a lot of people liked ended up being "watered down", and there are other issues I've seen pointed out in the comments across itch.io.

I'll definitely look into them all, as I'd like to make new Carlos liked by everyone as much as I like him, hehe.

- Dev

Hey, sorry I didn't notice this thread beforehand as I tend to get most of the art feedback on our discord.

I'll definitely look more into it once I have more time. I will say new Carlos is a lot closer to the actual vision I had for him way back when, I just did not have the skills to pull it off (once you see the mistakes of the old sprite, it's hard to not notice them haha).

I realize it may be tough to adjust after seeing him one way for more than a year and a half, but I do believe the new sprites are all for the better. I do appreciate any and all feedback, though!

- Dev

Heya, most of the characters don't have all their expressions in right now, so some of them are used as placeholders. It's definitely been a tough job juggling all the art on my own, but they'll all eventually have fitting sprites!

May 1st.

May 1st.

Public releases are always a month behind our Patreon releases. We took a month off to recharge, so there's gonna be a month gap before the next build drop on May 1st.

Most of the features in the gallery are convenience features (music room, image room, vision and event replays) for easy access to content available in-game. The Profiles are actually still WIP and are likely to see another few revisions before they become public. We also have the character playlists section available in the public build. I keep the short stories exclusive to our patrons for now because it was one of the longstanding perks for pledging high. I have plans for certain short stories to eventually become public anyway, so it's just a matter of patience. As for the concept art and bonus features section, those are intended to be exclusive to our Patrons until further notice.

As far as I know, the only unlock notifications in the public build should be for the playlists and chapters. If you've encountered one for a short story, that's actually a bug! The notifications were added in at a later time when most of our players already had the features unlocked, so I'm not surprised this might have fell through the cracks. I'll take another look at the code for those, so thank you for bringing it to my attention.

It'll happen, that I can guarantee, hehe. We'll first focus on the first three original routes, however.
