Thanks for your "Thoughts"! I am glad you found the experience enjoyable.

The main character IS retelling a recurring dream she has to her college friends. However. Dreams are not only a reflection of events. They are a way to process (and even resolve) real-life problems. So, by guiding Veronica, you are helping her through whatever she found herself in. Is it some deep, dark, dramatic secret? Probably not. That doesn't mean it's unimportant or 'random'!

Of course, you can think what you want; I am not the Thought Police.

The hint: Is there an object in the game which can give you a string of numbers after writing a  word?

You are correct: it was a bug. I've fixed it up by now, along with adding more prompts to clear things up. A tutorial of sorts would be good, but I was running out of time :c Will work on communication skills, I guess.

I will look into masking; didn't even think about that.

My setup is much simpler: You move the pc around a map. That's it.

Your suggestions about sextant are very thought-out. But then again, I am working on it already. Specifically, I am adding pictures of the constellations you're looking for; and prompts for the stars.

Your deep dive into the problem is interesting, but I have no clue how you expect me to pull that off. A split-screen? Well, I like the idea, but I am not doing it for this.

Yeah, there is a glitch. I wrote about it in the game description under 'IMPORTANT.' As you know, I can't do much else before the jam ends.

I'm already reworking the part with the sextant since it was (clearly) rushed. And so on. (I think I've already said this multiple times in the comments, so.)

The left side is static because that is how a sextant works. You measure the angle between the Earth (the horizon) and the stars.

For what it's worth, I didn't intend for it to be cryptic; quite the opposite. Time constraints are... evil.

Not sure I will be expanding on the game's idea, but I don't intend to leave it as it is.

  1. Find a glowing star in the sextant minigame. The game will recognize the correct position automatically.
  2. Rotate the outer ring to match a Roman numeral and a zodiac sign as shown on the sextant.
  3. Rotate inner rings to make a constellation shown on the prompt. The game will recognize the correct position automatically.

I will look into implementing different levels of difficulty... if I actually will be able to work on the game in the future, that is. Since I was using a contest's version of the engine, it may be impossible.

If you ever will be in the mood to try it out again, I recommend starting with the third constellation; it's the easiest one.

Yes, you're supposed to make a constellation shown on the prompt. One of the screenshots on the game page reveals the solution for the Ursa Minor. (Thought the position of a constellation dictated by the sextant is randomized every time.)

In this case, is it possible to upload a separate file alongside the uploaded one? With the proper indication, of course. This way, the judges could play the initially submitted version, and other people will have a choice between bugged and (hopefully) fixed game. It's just... A month is a long time to leave a game broken.

1. There is not a walkthrough (that I know of), but I put Hints.txt in the downloads. Check it out?

2. You also need to water 6 plants in the hallways (the door in the upper left corner). (The one in the glass counts as a plant too.)

(Un)fortunately, a Russian translation is already in progress. But thank you for the offer!

You can find the right solution, but should you? The library girl will not take it from Veronica. Try to contact the librarian instead. (The phone book will help you with that.)


I would say, there IS a solution to the library puzzle. But it's impossible to find because there isn't enough clues. (And the books are supposed to be out of place - except for the H section.)

But I would also say that I agree with your points. This puzzle was supposed to get an extreeeeeeemely complicated explanation. The reason  it didn't? My dread of writing. I just can't English .0.

In general, we both think that library puzzle wasn't the greatest thing in the game and could use some improvements (a lot of improvements). And maybe someday it will become the better version of itself. But today... it's kind of ok and that's good enough for me.

Glad there's something you did find enjoyable. (Especially the dialogs... my greatest enemy).

I understand, that 'misleading' the player is a dicey solution. But! The misunderstanding comes from depending on logic (puzzle game thinking) instead of common sense (real life thinking). Which is pretty funny, don't you think? Since it's not the most natural way of thinking. And since the main theme is 'information'.... Sometimes there is too many, sometimes there is too little and sometimes you know everything you need... but don't realize it.

The thing with the key is not a bug. I mean, there's even a cg for it :)

Please, don't lose your mind!
There's a hint: in order to call somebody, you need to use a coin.  Maybe this is that you've been missing? The person in the greenhouse can help you with that.
