Tbh, this is expected. The dev is using mojang IP and making money on that.

If you are not going to update the game — why not open source it? So others may continue

Well, they blocked every single ukrainian fond, like "Return back alive", volunteer Sternenko and a couple of others, justifying that with "weapons involved" bs, but they don't do the same to russian accounts, who openly support the crap they do in Ukraine and not even hiding, that the money from patreon goes to fund the war (WarGonzo is the most obvious example of that).
