I had a funny first experience with this game. I immediately went down, faceplanted, and got to the invisible area. I went the normal route and fell maybe 5 times before I noticed this abomination to the left:

Naturally, I got obsessed. I spent over an hour just tapping out different directions and trying to gauge my height along floating eyes in the distance. I got 80% up the path but fell. It was sickening, literal head rush sick. I had to uninstall, just delete it from the face of my computer. I think I had a nightmare about it that night.

I came to my senses 2 days later, when I write this. I love Yume Nikki and this is too great a game to ignore just because I played it wrong. So I played and explored normally for a while and enjoyed myself, but later I had the strangest urge to try it again. I loved Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, so it makes sense. I found I was way faster at it than the other day. It's the joy of accumulating skill but in the strangest way in this case. I fell a few times early, fell again at the same spot 80% up, realized what I was doing wrong there, and I did it. I god damn did it. I was so proud. I would do it just for the challenge but I did think the reward at the top was worth it too.

This game holds little worlds. Its environment design, sound design, and placement are so encapsulating and vivid in ideas and feelings beyond the sum of the parts. Scary and mysterious and calming and nostalgic. I loved every minute I played.

I liked this!

I love this experience. It's dark at night and the AC is on, and it's exactly like reading a good book inside while it rains.

I really loved the atmosphere of this game! I appreciate that the gameplay was also just walking around the atmosphere lol.

I like the idea of absolutely no "gamey" kind of information that would break the total immersion this has, but this causes some problems too. I initially missed the instructions in the house, but gamer sense told me to pick up the log on the ground after I went exploring. You probably don't want people walking around for 25 minutes trying to figure out what to do, so some positioning of the player to see the instructions could help. An idea might be to have the player start at some safe observational outpost with instructions in the room.

Also, I stopped at 3 firewood and returned before I found the instructions. For game rules that don't make too much sense (requiring an exact amount of logs) some UI might be best (e.g. a "1/4" text). But then again if you force the player to read the instructions beforehand you wouldn't have to.

Great game (:

Great!

When the boss spawned, everything worked normally and it spawned pumpkins, but after killing the boss and pumpkins, the next wave would not progress. Or perhaps I couldn't find the last pumpkin, although it happened twice.

This game is already very enjoyable! I like the spooky atmosphere and gameplay. I kept getting glitched on wave 5, it seems like all the enemies are dead but the next wave doesn't start. I think there should be less ammo spawns so it forces players to move around the map.  I really liked this game.
