Anyone know what I gotta do to get a little swaying movement, and not just a little shimmy back and forth?

I'm working on Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom, and I can't get the plants to move right.

I'm up to Chapter 5. Any other tips would also be appreciated.

Could you export this to .gb, or is this a Pocket exclusive thing?

But as lyghters pointed out, if you do have to have every light in the base on and you stand with every computer terminal in view, your FPS could drop to as low as 40.

And of course, if you can't get above 24 no matter what the settings are, it's your save.

Oh, 1 more thing. If even new games can't get to 60, your whole data file might be borked, and for that there is a Regenerate Data button in the options.

But you were asking about my performance, and I was clarifying that it has nothing to do with lights, or settings.

Save data, for whatever reason, can impact your framerate. No idea if it's a Steamdeck specific thing or not, but it can happen.

No, it's not a performance issue.

The Steamdeck lets you open an overlay that gives you the details of exactly what your CPU and GPU are doing.. Eventually, the game will just decide to lock itself to 24 FPS, no matter how little the GPU or CPU are being used.

I could stand in an open field, with every detail set to 0, rendering at 25% resolution at 800x600, with an uncapped framerate, and still only 24 FPS. While a new save in the same spot with the same setting can get well into the 100s.

I suppose it could be ported to Linux and optimized to run at max settings on the Steamdeck.

You know, I am not entirely sure. All I know is that new games run at 60, no problem. Then after saving a certain number of times it just refuses to ever go above 30, no matter the settings, unless you load into a different area, like the cave or the tunnels.

First I added it as a non-steam game, forced compatibility in the options, set it use a shared compactdata file via the Steam launch options (STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="/home/.local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/shared %command%), then I downloaded C++, etc. the game needs to run, added them as non-steam games as well, forced compatibility, and set them all to share the same compactdata file as VotV.

Can get 60 FPS with shadows turned off and 30 with them on.

What are you talkin' bout, the game runs at 60 FPS on Steamdeck.

I think there might be a problem with your save. A corrupt save file can drop the FPS down to 30

It is day 52, I'm using the gravity gun to bash cyboars with the wrecked car, I've killed maybe 5 of them just outside the base's window. Now the drive port is gone. Graphically it's still there, but there is no box around it when I hover over it, and I can no longer put drives in it.

I have tried regenerating the data file, and that hasn't fixed the drive port. What do?

I am playing on a Steamdeck, at around 25-30 FPS, in case that matters.
