My game is broken?

I've been playing the steam port for a while and all of a sudden the puzzle menu wont open, also if i open any of the menues on the main screen like options i can navigate inside them but i can't close the menu and need to hard shut off the game

with the premise and a certain sprite you have shown for the future I won't lie having the MC wear the girls' uniform was definitly on my mind. very excited if you do decide to add that but don't if you feel it detracts from the story you want to tell.

I usually stop watching his vid if it seems like something I'm going to play but I was so sucked in I watched it all
