It's Probably a Mixture of Both, because you can see that he's a survivor, but at the same time, He got so Traumatized & Possesed that he has a demon which can make him extend his jaw while possesed. not only that but The demon inside him Grows with each phase. soon, he'll become a bloodthirsty monster (LIKE SIMON) & Kill Tunner by eating him.
