Ok thanks. Gosh, sorry, now that I've beaten the rat I can't figure out how to get two tickets to exchange for the second boss fight. I've tried doing the rat and the tutorial multiple times. I was actually getting excited... lol. Wait. Somehow I started getting tickets. Okay, this game is cool! I can't seem to get a high enough score on the rocket rat, but I feel satisfied with this game now. Thanks for the good time.

I'm playing in browser. Having earned a ticket from the tutorial, I can't enter the boss fights by clicking Z. It seems like something's broken. Any help?

I have an interesting relationship with this game. Here's how it goes. I start the game, skip through the tutorial, vibe to the simple-but-effective music (very cool when it gets louder right before the first boss), and start fighting the dude. I get a little more skilled each time. And each time, the game crashes when I try to hit him with my sword. I'm not sure if it's my browser or something else, but the crowd remembers each run and has taken to chanting, "Sisyphus! Sisyphus!" when I enter the cage. Rating pending for when I actually finish the game. I suspect it will be good.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. I, too, wish the lore were in the game. We had a lot of fun coming up with it.

I need to be honest. I had a lot of hope for this game, but I had to put it down before beating the first boss. The giant spheres that fly out at you are way too fast for me; I don't have the reflexes to dodge that attack. Then I started experimenting with the swap function. I assumed that when I used it, the two characters would swap locations, allowing me to dodge attacks that way. It wasn't the case. I think that if you let the characters swap location, the gameplay would become much more dynamic and fun. As of now, the game is overwhelming and takes place in a small arena without much breathing room or change of pace. Some players will be able to handle it, but I can't.

That being said, I feel that the concept is really strong. I love the art and music too. I hope you find a lot of good players who can tackle this. It deserves to go far.

Whoa.

I teared up playing this. I just beat it. I'm shaking.

Thank you for creating this heartfelt and mechanically excellent piece of art.

I think it's really impressive that you told a complete story in four boss battles and the quiet spaces in between. This is my favorite game of the whole jam by far.

I have no critiques, except that it took me a while (for some reason) to figure out that my dash let me dodge enemy shock waves. Maybe its because I don't play a lot of games.

I had a lot of fun optimizing my build to face the different bosses. I felt waves of satisfaction when I nailed my strategies.

And I won't spoil it for anyone reading, but... Wow. What a message.

I hope you make Top 30 and beyond!

Thank you so much. I downloaded Nox and began playing it before I even saw your comment. The thumbnail was so eye-catching. A teammate or I (if I can get far enough in the game on a touchpad) will get you some feedback soon. Appreciate the support. <3

This game's a lot of fun. The sound design makes every gunshot satisfying. The point-and-click shooting at small targets is a good challenge. The bosses are intimidating. The music rocks. Great job, guys. Some critiques—the arena could use a bit more post-apocalyptic design work to fill up the space. I also think the Spitter is by far the hardest boss and should have been the final boss. This game was hard for me to beat (due to the Spitter), but it made me want to win, and I'm glad I did. Thanks for the great experience.
