what lies beyond the confines of the woods? what kind of society is out there?

to put it simply, it's a world in which many species like demi-frogs, elfs, birdfolk, gnomes, ecc. live, and magic exists, but the conditions are our own modern ones. smartphones, internet, all that jazz.

i haven't written a significant amount of worldbuilding outside the woods seems it isn't that necessary, but when i have some time to kill i might do it for fun

Just what are these woods all about? basically, they have been there for a looong time, it seems even before the medieval period it was still there. they trapped all kinds of misfortunate folk, so much that there's even villages of people living inside them, often not knowing there's more then what is inside the woods.

there's also a weird phenomenon regarding dragonflies, they flourish inside these woods, often gaining beneficial magical proprieties. the local cultures always depict them as the symbol for good, but for spiders, its the opposite, being that they eat the dragonflies, also gaining magical proprieties but not beneficial to the locals, and since have gained a negative meaning
