Thank you for the feedback. It is invaluable to me. Online leaderboards is absolutely something I would love to have, although in the time frame of the game jam, was a technical hurdle I was not prepared to handle on my own. But I plan on implementing it, and your feedback is critical to my putting that feature at the top of the list of things to work on post game jam. I have a few ideas on smoothing out the experience too. Thank you so much again for the feedback and thanks for playing.

I was fortunate enough to catch you streaming my game on Twitch; followed! It was a pleasure watching you play, as I was the only tester during the week of development. To answer your question, it is 2D, simulated 3D artwork; I used color theory to ensure contrast in the layouts and sprite sheets. Your feedback is invaluable, as seeing firsthand how the game is perceived allows me to prioritize future updates. Thanks again!
Really smooth controls and straight forward gameplay. Nice art style too. I found it hard to avoid being caught by some bad guys especially when I had trouble sucking up the energy from some of the cells, but maybe a few more tries will give me that win I'm looking for. That's a lot of good stuff in a week of work.
I was able to find the text input at the bottom but when I try acceptable things like 'Look at door" or "Open" or anything, there is nothing that I can proceed with. It seems to accept but yeah, probably cropped. Like the first comment mentioned, you might be able to edit scale settings in the itch io page.
This is one of those games that seems intimidating at first, but then you feel smart when you get into it and make progress. I like action style games, and even though this game has RPG vibes, I am able to enjoy dodging enemies. It seems like a puzzle because of how the level expands as you move forward. It is a very neat effect and makes your brain work at figuring how to advance without getting hurt by thinking ahead of paths that would block enemies from getting to you. It also has more environments that come up as you progress, so you don't feel like it's just one color and level. Well done. The music was very relaxing, I put my kids to bed listening to it =) Nice work!
Very fun. I enjoyed that it required stone cold nerves of steel to hit those pixel precise jump. Since that's the core of the game, then why not?! Great job. Even better was the cutscenes. I thought it felt kind of funny, and was animated very well. It reminded me of an old "The Simpsons" short. Very cool game and fun.
Great art style. I thought it was eerie and funny. I liked the horror sci-fi theme. The last door was the hardest to get through, not sure how but I'll be sure to try again on a future iteration. I liked the game mechanic concept to use snippets of words the alien hears to trick people into opening their doors. Clever and fun mechanic.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and art was a through back to some old pc games I enjoy playing. The music was good too. I tried solving it, but after several attempts, the most logical solutions didn't pan out for me. I was hoping to figure it out to find out what would become of me. More varied sound effects would be helpful so the player knows if they are just wrong, or on the wrong track. I'll have to come back and give it another go sometimes.
Thank you for the feedback. I leaned hard on the mystery/sci-fi vibe by not adding a tutorial up-front, but tutorials aren't for everyone. There is a "How to Play" section in the Details menu accessible in the Main Menu and also via the Pause Menu. I agree with the font, it's small, but I'll simply increase the font size I've got right after the Game Jam judgement window since I do like the style. For the background, I suspect you mean the HUD? since the background is procedurally generated, not necessarily AI art as one would traditionally think it to be. I do plan on cleaning the HUD up in future iterations, but more-so balancing out where things go. As my first game-jam as a solo-dev I put my efforts in hitting the theme of decay and mysterious by having the entire HUD decay if you let your systems decay by not answering the math problems presented, and keeping the enemy viewport focused on the horror that comes from the singularity. Thanks again!
