Genuinely insane artstyle (In a good way), I was confused the whole way through until the end said it was based on a book series, which made it make a lot more sense. you want want to change the default window size because some of the buttons were just barely on screen for the first minigame for me. Otherwise great idea.
Very interesting concept, the music is nice and I see what you were going for, if I had to suggest something it'd probably be that the effect of the tile grid on the world is not all too apparent, but maybe I just didn't play around with it for long enough
