Snappy, straightforward, and endlessly charming, this game does a lot in its relatively short runtime.

The gameplay itself is rock solid, a natural streamlining of the idea of dungeon crawling that encourages resource management and forethought, while battles gradually increase in complexity and room for self-expression. Gameplay is ever so slightly on the demanding side, so don't be afraid to use the game's assistance tools.

Itch RPGs live and die off their stories and casts, though, and this one heartily delivers. Over a single-digit number of dungeon floors, OFB introduces its main characters, fleshes out the setting, and then tells a charming tale with a great conclusion. Also, I'd be remiss not to mention the hand-drawn art assets (including absolutely adorable sprites), and I'm going to be listening to the final boss music for a long time.

In short, it's good. Play it. It's well worth an afternoon of your time!

Hello- thank you again for this amazing free software! I deeply respect the work you've put into this and will be supporting development as best I can with donations. One question, though- I'm considering taking commissions for maps (for ttrpgs and the like). Is Tiled an acceptable software to use for profit in such a manner?
