OOo so I made an account just to express my thoughts.
This game was good. I appreciated the incorporation of mental health being discussed in terms of struggles people can encounter like Angel. She is very pitiful...the background discussing vaguely regarding her family life, her roommate situation, her job having great demands for her despite communicating how expendable the workers are, and finally- her loneliness that is pretty much inevitable with a life as hard as hers. It makes sense she would trust in Lee, especially when he offers financial support in the beginning to cover for her not going into work, while also showing concern to her situation- as this concern from anyone was a foreign feeling. It's heartbreaking how she has a lack of love in her life, and we see this again when she discusses **mild spoilers** how she would love to turn into an animal to have a set purpose in life essentially, when explaining why she adores drawing animals.
So that being said, Angel is very fleshed out and I really like that.
However, ***MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW***
Lee is your typical yandere as we see near the end, which is still cool seeing how this could play out. I mean, despite his flat demeanor overall in the story. I think something though that just bothered me was really believing Angel would (if you chose the good ending) fall in love with him. Now, she does have a very difficult life that is devoid of love, so perhaps what Lee can provide is still something very nice despite the circumstances. Regardless of the endings and overall who he is; he has always been respectful of her choices. He never forces anything on her, and even though he is batshit crazy for what he does in the end, he seems to love her genuinely. Even though he is the predictable insane stalker type. So...it seems thinking this way, Angel could fall for him genuinely. Both of them have in common that they have been treated poorly in life, be it by family, people around them (coworkers, roommates, overall societal expectations, ex. Lee being a gifted child that then struggled in college), and so this can also overall distort their expectations for love- or at least, be more willing even if it is disordered (the obvious acts of what Lee did). However, that still does not make it too likely, I feel more like there might have been a perception of a type of girl the creator may like- such as Angel - an artsy, cute, though oblivious and pitiful...perhaps even a loser (as much as I hate that word) girl, which partially inspired the game. She can be so easily taken advantage of given her weakness (physically such as her vital signs) and difficulty in life...Lee obviously has put her on a pedestal, as much as Angel does not believe herself to be special at all- though that may cater to her appeal. In that she is so lacking in love and attention that it is a man's duty to come in and save her, especially if he is also struggling mentally and physically in life like her. She is like him- yet also amazing and perfect to him. It can be icky to some people, but perhaps others who need love so much that they can accept horrific behavior(stalking, murder...) from someone who loves them, then that is a lovely fantasy.
Game is 7/10 personally. Feels professionally done, love the characters and art that is charming. The music is also great and fitting according to what is happening in the story. I enjoyed playing! The yandere trope is just a little tiresome for me. Also...we need more Adri??? Forgive me if I am wrong, but I do not know what she contributed to the story other than describing Lee's behavior from someone else's perspective other than Angel. She had great potential for something...make more content! You are extremely talented.
