Thank you so much for giving it a chance!  I am so glad you liked it, I try not to be vague but to leave things open for adjustment/hacking so I'm glad that came across.

If you have any critiques or suggestions in the future I'd love to hear them!

Not too critical at all; super helpful and many things I've thought of! Thank you!! :)

Reflecting on the jam, I had two sides of a page to use but I thought I only had one side so I definitely could have expanded it a bit with some more tables lol.

I love the idea of a table for the southern tower.

It is definitely meant to kill your character, I had looked up the roll stats before but I will consider making the skills start at 5d6&4d6 + adding a section that explains you are basically expected not to return. Maybe a table for something you're leaving behind at your old tower as well.

Thank you again! There's nothing better than hearing from someone who thinks something is cool and can be improved haha. I really appreciate your ideas and your time to play and write a critique!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through it!

The Mossth is my favorite but Batterfly was the first one I thought of!

I see where you're coming from and may remove the "secret" pet in order to add depth to the Dream Fairy's Quest instead because I was really hurting for words by the end and I designed the pets first. It is meant to be up to the GM but I would like to have a d8 table or something for where the sheep might be and/or what skill might be applicable since it is very vague.

I would love to make a more "full" version of this in the future. I had tentatively called it Creature Keeper but changed it at the last minute in case i wanted to expand it in the future haha.

Thanks again for reading and commenting! :)

ok body horror power rangers with a retro music motif is a killer idea

I know you didn't say power rangers anywhere but that's the vibe my little 90's brain got.

Super cool, I think going with minimal mechanics left you with a lot of room to sell the atmosphere and characters. Speaking of which, good use of space in the layout. It seems like for a lot of people (it's me) layout is one of the hardest things to get right but you killed it!

This is such a silly game! Air definitely blew out of my nose multiple times lol.

I will say preemptively I'm not super familiar with PBTA I've just heard of it.

Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to play with right now but I still really enjoyed reading through it!

I like the using your mask and using your face, that's really cool and really drives home the theme of being an imposter if you lean in to it as a player.

Also, asking the MM and other MBs for consequences and stuff is really cool!

This made me sorry I don't speak French.

I'm sure Translate messed with some of it but the meaning behind the game

was really apparent even so.

At the third beat of the waltz, you are now waltzing as a trio: the other person, you, and love.

Like, what?! I LOVE that.

Thank you for sharing. Sorry for my English. <3

This is sooooooo cool! How did you even generate this idea from the prompts (I mean, I get it) like it is so evocative and open-ended.

I didn't have anyone to play with at the moment but I read through it in-depth.

Layout is great, very professional.

Naming of abilities was cool and reinforced the simulacrum fantasy well.

Playing section is well executed, I think a lot of people are unsure of what a game's pace is meant to be like and this describes it perfectly.

Hallucinations are cool as heck. I'm not really sure what else to say except I need a simulacra who thinks they are Shakespeare like hot dogs need water.

I know this is a limited word count jam but if you ever wanted to release some solo rules I think this setting really fits it.

This is so interesting! Really cool interpretation of the prompts and really cool worldbuilding/storytelling in minimal words!

My partner wasn't home so I couldn't play through it in the moment but the rules seemed super straightforward. I love the take a stress to make your activity take less time mechanic.

This is adorable! The art is so charming!

I loved the tables also, they were super thematic and inspiring.

I did have some rule questions,

When getting crumbs, playing solo, I rolled 4d6 and got two crumbs and two attention tokens. Then, the next page begins Echo tables. Am I meant to roll on the Echo tables for my two crumbs according to the Echo I received in the beginning?

Apologies if that seems obvious but I got myself turned around.

Lovely game, thank you so much!

This was a blast to play through! What a fun, atmospheric adventure.

Weird comparison but I imagined my city kind of like the movie The Boxtrolls but with more body horror!

A couple questions,

Do you start with all three masks? I wasn't clear if I was looking for the masks or if I already had them so my guy had to find the masks before he molted.

Do you need to find all three things to win? A safehouse, documentation, kinfolk, and make it to 20 Humanity?

All in all, I had a great time. My dude lived for twelve days and I really thought we were going to make it but this grumpy librarian ruined it all.

Clear rules, evocative set-up text, and a blast to play through!

I wasn't able to print the ballroom but I really wanted to play through it so I pulled the pdf up on my tablet and set the tokens on the screen, it worked really well!

I won my first game but it was a tense victory, there were two enemies that were really closing in on us in the end. Of course, there was also one who spent most of the game dancing around the outer ring but hey let a guy live a little.

I ran out of red crystals, so that gray-ish d6 is enemy 4 lol

Thank you so much for checking it out! :)

Loved this!

I ran a short little game for my partner where she was a ladybug crossing from the flower patch to the watering hose hookup. She was pursued by thunderous footsteps that ultimately belonged to a friendly if bizarre beetle.

Thanks for sharing!!

booo finish a game sometime sodabro

The emoji graphics were surprisingly charming!

Poop Master is way harder, my high score was like 90-something.

Dodge Master I did better but mostly cause the cat got stuck in a weird loop for a bit lol.

Really cool little game and nice page layout too!

Thank you so much :) I am so glad you enjoyed it!

I haven't had the chance to sit down and play this yet but I also haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I read it, truly a wonderful idea executed beautifully. Thank you for sharing!

This looks so fun! :)

I hope you plan to release an English translation someday!

Thank you for sharing!

This is incredible! The art is gorgeous and evocative. The text is clear and concise yet plenty flavorful (spicy). Truly just an all around wonderful game.

I love your art style!

This is a really cool game; I hope I get the chance to run it soon!

Thank you for sharing!

Woah, this is incredible!

This is so dope! Your hand-drawn icon is amazing.

What a cool idea and execution! I feel like this is easily hackable into any campaign for some light-hearted necromantic fun. Big fan of the random, silly flavor and yet still tight, crunchy rules.

Thank you for sharing!

Hey, this is such a cool idea! The mechanics were easy to understand and the "gimmick" for lack of a better term is so unique and interesting! I hope I can get a group to play this sometime. Thank you for sharing your work!

I love your cover art!

Do you plan to offer an English translation? I'd love to check it out if so!

Also, it appears some of your code in the description is broken! So sorry! Hope you see this :)

This was such a blast to play through! Very thematic.

  • I played Reign; a Mind hero, with a Secret Identity, and Storm Spice.
  • Reign was able to detect the dimensional frequency. (I ended up forgetting his +2 to rolls, though.)
  • He rescued 12 hostages but triggered the dimensional trap.
  • His civilian phone rang and his landlord informed him the rent was overdue. (-1 Spice)
  • (In Scene 8, I spent my first Spice point to re-roll)
  • Reign managed to save most of the hostages scattered across the dimensions.
  • Reign engaged the Architect of the Dimensional Tower in a battle of wits and managed to confuse the villain temporarily and secure a victory. The strange magics of the Architect had left scars on both the world and Reign himself. (Ending C)

Thank you so much for making this!

I did a short play-through this afternoon with Hyperion by Dan Simmons as I felt like there was a similar vibe there. What happened was truly fun and a bit haunting! I generated an illness or plague of some kind that killed the infected and spread to others by somehow killing the memory of the deceased in their acquaintances as well. Its origin was mysterious but distinctly tragic; it was obvious that it would eventually infect and erase everything. The only way to resist the infection was to maintain a level of extreme stress and duress for the duration of the incubation period.

I can't wait to play it with another book soon! Thanks again!

Hey all! :)

👋 Where are you from? Midwestern United States!
🧭 How did you discover this jam? physicalgamejams.com
🍽️ What languages do you speak? English only unfortunately.
🎲 What kind of games do you like to cook up? I'm just kinda starting out so not much yet. I'm interested in mystery, action, and vibe above all. I think a lot of my inspiration comes from trying to recapture that childhood excitement, wonder, and mystery.

Hint: think of re-spawning in video game terms. This isn't a new red slime being born when the characters enter the room again, rather its the dungeon "recycling" its defensive tools. This means that if one half of the pool is filled with a dead slime and someone enters that slime's spawn point its remains will be reclaimed by the dungeon and respawned for the character entering its room. Thus, the dungeon cannot be solved by backtracking.

This was a great dungeon; I ran it for my partner in our solo campaign as a kind of interlude one-shot adventure and we had an absolute blast! Thank you so much for sharing!

This is really cool! The presentation is awesome and I love the foldable print version. Also, it's nice to see someone using games to get people together and talking about the problems we are facing in the world!

Thank you for sharing!!
