really cute and really cool puzzle game! with some music and polish this could be even steam-worthy if you added more levels, very nice job

thank you so much! we're glad so many people are enjoying this game, so really big thanks :D

really cool idea you've  developed! music and art is amazing, and i quickly got the hang of it. good job :D

even without gameplay I still love it. very one-shot like with its reference to the player but maybe that's just because its a cat lol, reminds me of "there is no game" too. still a cool little concept

glad you enjoyed it! all this feedback's making it into the tutorial for the next release of the game so tysm :)

already patched it for the game version we're working on outside the jam lol, so it was short lived but fun. perhaps we'll add a joke item or reference to it in the future since it seemed rather fun

we're going to continue this after the jam, so more you will get!

thanks for playing!
and yeah, bugs like that are bound to slip by, glad you enjoyed it either way :)

Oh I didn't know you could edit the page (without breaking the rules), I'll absolutely do that!!! Thank you so much, we do plan on adding a better tutorial as we're going to continue this after the jam

Really neat game! love the concept and its executed very well. If you had more time the game could use a more in depth tutorial and maybe some sfx, but its still quite good :)

no worries, it seems a lotta people are struggling with the shovel. you have to hold down F while jamming it into a surface to work, our fault for not making it more clear

we plan on continuing this game past the jam! so this'll all make it in
also you can literally grab onto any floor surface lol, not just ledges

hey nonetheless still a really neat game, be proud of yourself :)

fair, fair. glad you liked it!
once the shovels on your back btw it's E/Q to take if off, tho if you tried that and it didnt work sadly its probably a bug
either way thank you sm for playing :D

really adorable game! got stuck on the fourth level but I do quite like games with high skill curves, really enjoyed it

thank you :D
glad people are enjoying this, i'll check out your game too now

FOR EVERYONE CONFUSED ON THE CONTROLS:

L/R mouse button for the hands

F to pick up the shovel, and then hold down F to plant the shovel into a surface

R to rotate the shovel in your hand, or return it to you if it's stuck somewhere above you

Hope this helps :)

thank you :D

true, that's something we found out too playtesting it. but we were crunched for time and got busy irl during the end of the jam, so we had to forgo a better tutorial
for clarification too you gotta *hold* F to use the shovel, like while youre pushing it into a surface

did you at least enjoy the game once you got a hang of it?

this is phenomenal
I have to give it to you this is one of the most fun games ive played from this jam so far! feels very papers please like, and its very  masterfully crafted. emerging a somewhat complex game from a series of simple tasks like pointing the telescope, identifying a transponder, checking cargo, measuring asteroids ect was super rewarding and fun

I can see this totally expanding into a bigger game someday, be very proud of yourself!

(and if you can, check out my submission too :D)

(1 edit)

big immune system got me again...

ill dish out the goods first, I didnt think id like seeing kirby swim through a bones internals but it was actually kinda fun. it gave very early internet-games vibes and even if thats just a result of the crunch for time, it grew on me. like many of the rushed games during jams it has this goofy quality to it I cant help but admire. some cutscenes wouldve sewn that all together and let you lean into the hilarity lol

Ill assume youre still newish to game jams even if youve done one before, so i wont go too hard on you. it seems you really went for a quantity > quality approach here which is a trap many devs face. you have a lot you want to add but not the time to do it. maybe some more polish, balancing of that big macrophage, and more time spent on the art budget wouldve pushed this game higher but i cant blame you for the lack of time. for a solo dev, it isnt bad by any means
(also id appreciate it if you checked our my submission too :D)

got to recipe 11 nerds
but fr this game is very nicely presented and actually kinda fun, not very creative but maybe I just have a soft spot for memory games like this lol

it was a little confusing at the start, maybe a panel just clarifying its the arrow keys and you repeat after ALL of it would've been helpful, but it hasnt impacted my score of the game

very nice work!

hey! just played and here are my thoughts

overall ill give it to you its a very goofy fun game, which could excuse some of the issues like walking out of bounds or the weird detection for gantry climbing. if this is your first ever game be proud of yourself for getting this done in a week!
sadly I couldn't rate this very high in fun because... well, its not that fun after a minute or two. unless you do the perfect movements youre going to die very quick, and even then i had to sacrifice an arm or leg. There wasnt enough energy materials to make it rewarding when I did stuff right and since there also wasnt a restart button or how to play I struggled getting into the roguelite aspect of it (that is, going to get started again and do it better each time)
overall tho be proud of yourself, its good for a first project :)))

next time maybe just find a free asset if you MUST do it in a 3D setting, its better when doing game dev to focus on the mechanics and gameplay first before presentation

im glad you found it interesting! after the jam if i have time, ill 100% see to those problems - i noticed them too but lacked the time to change them. also glad SOMEONE found the unique dialogue lol

thank you!! and yes, I admit a lot of the game was rushed in it's progression, i intended to have double the levels but schoolwork and other stuff took up my weektime. In future I might update this with more content and better pacing, but for now i'm glad you enjoyed it :D

love this take on snake, has a good gameplay loop, certainly feels like a cool little game i'd stubble across one day and adore. I can see this going very far if you continue it outside the jam!

thank you so much! and on my first game jam too!
indeed most of the game that feels worse off or unpolished is a result of the time limit, and if i have some spare time between projects I absolutely want to expand this more

I've been looking for this for so long thank you so much!

thanks! there is actually a restart button, the narrator mentions you can press R to restart, but yes it can get overlooked pretty easily. If i had more time I'd have made it a little more obvious
