Thanks a lot for the structured feedback! I didn't really want to make it this linear, but I figured it was probably the only way to avoid softlocks with the mechanics I had imlemented. Next time I should definetely explain the game mechanics more (than not at all). Regarding the music, I really wanted to go WILD for some reason but after the game was taking shape I would probably rather aim for something softer and calmer.

Such a beatifully crafted game! Got 114.6 points on my first try. Would love to see if it is good or bad score - maybe a grade at the end of the game would help communicate that? Also I quite didn't understand the white tree so I rather didn't use it to no ruin my score lol. Altough I'm kind of used to game jam games not having music, I would definetely receommend teaming up with a composer on the GWJ discord or in the community tab here on the gamejam page. Very good job Jaime!
For me, playing on 80% in Firefox worked just fine. Maybe fullscreen would solve the UI issue? Otherwise it was a great game! I really liked the artstyle and the jazzy music. I feel like buying the reroll dice for 2 coins was way to unbalanced in comparision to other items. Would probably keep it at the 5 coins.
The level of polish in your game is absolutely unbelievable! I loved the music and the gorgeous VFXs. The only part I didn't enjoy as much was the gameplay itself because it felt a little too simple in comparision to the overall look of the game but you absolutely aced all of the other categories. Two minor bugs I encountered: back button in credits doesn't work for mouse, screenshake in browser is like 100 times stronger than on desktop build.
Thank you so much! This was very helpful!
Essentaily the only place where I use look_at() is for disapearing turtle's GPUParticles3D to face the player and after the player takes control of the disapearing turtle, the player and the GPUPartiles3D have the same position and thus look_at() fails because it needs a nonzero length to work, which I definetely should have checked first.
But that's more of a consequence of your bug that lets you take control of disapearing turtle.
Hey thanks for the feedback! A friend of mine was playing the linux version yesterady and sadly he encountered the same bug, which didn't occur nor on windows or browser which were the only ones I playtested thoroughly.
We found out that it's probably caused by the GPUPartiles3D rotation during mutating so a clunky workaround would be to not move during mutating. Could you tell me if it was the linux build you played? I might take it down and let linux players play in browser until the end of jam instead.
I enjoyed your game even more than slay the spire. Especially the music is absolutely terrific! Such a shame it stopped playing after about 5-10 minutes into the game :(
Right after posting this I thougt: wow this guy is really good, I should follow him or something. That's when I realised I already watched dozens of your youtoube videos and was kind of inspired by you to join another GWJ lol. Hope to see a devlog about making of this game!
I must say I really liked your game but I had a couple of issues which decreased the level of satisfaction throughout my play and could help you take the game even further: Honestly, I hate timed events and the ones in your game didn't even give me enough time to read the options. I suggest that you remove them or at least make them a bit longer. The basic attack feels quite unresponsive - my suggestion would be maybe to add a semi-transparent part of circle that follows the direction of the mouse and that way the player sees where their attacks will land. Also I never knew how close to the enemies could I be to not take damage and it felt quite unfair when I took damage even when I was just close to them.
Hope this helps to push your game further or take into account in your next ones!
Saw your game on discord and was absolutely stunned by the visuals of your game - especially the sky! Apart from that, I loved how the music progressed as I climbed the tower and also the characters along the way made me chuckle with their little gossips :D I was too lazy to read the controls in the game page, so obviously I struggled to finish the game at first lol. Keep up the great work!
Apart from jumping and farting the game included also collecting bells - truly unplayable!! Jk, it's a great game but it feels like the theme was implemented only after the start of the development and next time I would probably take more time to plan out the project rather than jumping straight into it . Otherwise good job!! Wish you luck on your game dev journey!!!
Hey thanks for playing, w e're glad you enjoyed the game! I actually wanted to focus on the balancing part more after adding two more powerups (faster reload and larger lights) but after an exhausting debug session I just wanted to submit and not touch the code anymore xDd Gonna check yours right away!
