Art Style is very nice and polished. I felt the ranged weapons were very powerful, I got whooped handily after switching to the daggers.

This has some great arcade fundamentals. I found it quite addicting and was motivated to get to the end. I only found two secrets (thorn bomb + the bow for her hair). The level design fell a little flat towards the end, but I think that can easily be fixed. A room with the zombie and harpy enemy types overlapping (or just generally more enemy types and screens where you need to contend with both simultaneously) would be cool!

Hey so I redid the frame cap code and posted a new build, can you let me know if you're getting 120 fps now?

Intriguing little game! The long car ride to the hotel was fun. The camera being able to detect ghosts was cool (i found two, not sure if there are more or not). The time of day system was well done- the way the light streamed into the hotel entrance was very cool. I am interested to see how this progresses.

It's actually a handmade engine, so I can guarantee shaders are compiled at startup. Whatever's causing it, I'd like to get to the bottom of the poor performance. Who knows who else is experiencing something similar. You can add me on discord here: https://discord.gg/bUG8MGB7 . If you have some time to troubleshoot 1-on-1 I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey Fleefer, thank you so much for playing. I'm sorry you had poor performance. Based on your specs you should have been able to easily maintain a stable 120 fps, so I'm not sure what happened there. I think either a driver issue or I have a nasty bug to fix!

Manipulating the gun is very fun- realized I have no idea how a pump action works. I can imagine it would get pretty hectic fighting anything other than stationary targets. Sound is really good. Visuals a little crunchy for my taste. Looking down to check your ammo pouches was also cool.

Pretty cool. The art and music are really excellent. Wish there was a little bit more flavor text for each of the encounters. I liked how quickly combat resolved.

Controls:

Movement: WASD
Switch between gun and grapple hook: Right Click
Shoot: left click
Grapple: Hold left click
Walk slower: hold left shift
While Grappling:

Reel in / Speed up: W
Reel out: S
Control trajectory: AD

Definitely a cool game. I felt the combat was well balanced and rewarded figuring out the enemies weaknesses.

going to stop spamming your server for a lil bit to let you sort things out :D

Hello Meganerd thank you for showing me around for a little bit. This is a very impressive project!

Thanks for playing and recording commentary! I definitely need to at least add a screen with the controls or something. You can go a lot faster by holding forward while swinging to "reel" yourself in at the same time. But how could you have known that :)

thanks for playing!

Darn well thanks for giving it another try!

So I've uploaded a new build (GUNSWINGER01.zip) which maybe fixes the issue. Do you mind trying it out to see if you're still getting the same behavior for the billboard sprites?

Okay yeah after updating my driver and restarting my pc everything is good now!

Windows. I can definitely walk around and do stuff the graphics are just bugged out. I have a 6900xt. Here is my log: https://pastebin.com/ea2RWc5X
Updating my gpu driver's now. Will see if that helps at all.

Oh yeah that definitely looks bad!  I've tested on both my main PC which has an AMD gpu and also a laptop with an NVIDIA gpu so I thought I was pretty covered but I guess not. D: Do you mind giving me your exact gpu specs?  The game doesn't enforce it but it relies on some opengl 4.3+ stuff. There should also be a file that was created called "GUNSWINGER.log" which may have helpful errors.

The graphics are good. The sounds are GREAT. There are a lot of movement mechanics and I forgot most of them and was overall terrible at flying. Even so, I was able to complete the combat portion with about 20 deaths. I found the camera behavior when going straight up towards the sky and straight down kind of erratic. I think you're trying to prevent the camera from inverting completely but honestly it would be kind of cool to be able to fly upside-down. :)

Unfortunately, I'm having some technical difficulties getting your game to run correctly. The music is nice though!

Hi, Thank you for playing! WRT the comment about the weapon orbs being flat disks and invisible from some angles, can you send me a screenshot? They're supposed to be camera oriented sprites like doom.
