just some brain storming from my brainstorming file
Gameplay:
Most choices are between listening to the things or the zookeeper, and which room to go too
“The things” communicate between exhibits but they can’t share energy
You play as: Zookeepers Apprentice
“The things” try to convince you to share their energy across exhibits, which only you can do.
–sharing the energy progresses the things plan, they are manipulating you
–the zookeeper told you not to listen to the things, ever
–as you listen to the things more, the zookeeper mentions weird things going on at the museum
–you start having to find vanishing objects
–lots of stuff starts to vanish
–at the end, the things invite you to their dimension, you go, and they’ve stolen everything from your world, and put you and the zookeeper in the exhibits
–OR “the things” are repressed but they never gave up.. They’re awaiting the next zookeepers apprentice
–the things arent bad, they just dont belong to our world
–the things intelligence is different than ours, they understand analogies we could never grasp, and we understand ones they could never grasp
The things: share intelligence (pluribus), vote for every decision, have no emotional reservations
People: single units of free will, easily manipulated
“The things” are much like an LLM when working together in full
“The things” ability to separate into clusters is why they are kept apart in the zoo (the energy must be in the dormant things, not in the decision making things)
“The things” mass is correlated to their “energy level”
“The things” actually ARE reality-everything is just made up of “the things”, even the zookeeper
Was anything here all along
Obstacles:
-zookeeper and “the things” tell you contradicting things
-after listening to the things for a while, stuff starts to teleport, and you have to find it and return it to the zookeeper (or else you get fired->ending 3)
-The things ask you to deny the zookeeper but you must do it strategically
- Endings: 1-The thingiverse->the true nature of reality is exposed to you
2-You never listened to the things and never find out the truth of reality
3-You get fired from the zoo and never find out the truth of reality
Playthrough:
-Told to NEVER listen to “the things” by the zookeeper
-as you work your first days, you realize theres something deeper going on with “the things”
-”the things” start to ask you to help them, in secret
-if you deny enough, they leave you alone, awaiting the next apprentice (ENDING)
-help “the things” move their energy around and get certain “rare objects” to help with their plan without the zookeeper noticing
-if the zookeeper notices, you get 3 warnings before being fired (potential ending)
-help the things escape and learn the nature of reality
