So glad to be part of the Fossil Finders Excavation Team! Really impressive for a first game jam and your first time doing art! Actually one of the more fun games in the jam and I liked the story and how it led you around the map.

The washing mechanic could use some improvement. It seems like you can go into the washing table when you have nothing to wash, so I spent a long time washing nothing when I needed to find another bone for grandma. Also the visuals of the black bar weren't aligned with where you would get points. While the black bar was moving from point A to point B, you would get points for being at point B before the bar actually got there, and you'd stop getting points as soon as it started moving away, even if you were still overlapping. It actually kind of added a unique challenge to that mechanic but it didn't seem intentional and that behavior wasn't super clear.

The song that played when you entered the town was cute, but it was a lot louder than the beeping noise so after you entered the town you had to wait for the song to stop. Maybe the beeping isn't supposed to be happening in the town at all? It would also be cool if there was a visual indicator that matched up with the beeping so you didn't have to solely rely on audio.

Last thing: it would really add to the game if you could see the bones while mining and washing and even outside of those mechanics in some sort of inventory system. I totally get it if that was just not something you could squeeze in during the game jam timeframe, but would be nice to add in the future if you keep working on this.

Overall, it's a compelling game and I did play all the way to the end. Hope you had fun in your first jam!

Such a sweet (and sad!) story. The balloon mechanic was unique and fun to mess around with, and I loved how much you were able to do with it here. The art was very cute and the sound effects were great too. Great submission!

So stressful in a good way and the art was sooooo cute! Really polished and well done.

Can't believe you were able to fit so many different minigames into this in such a short time! The gameplay was super fun (I beat it in 21:05), but I agree with others that the visuals and overall feel the game could be improved. The song at the end was so good it really had me stressing. Props!

Simple but fun gameplay loop! I liked how it was easy to understand but still challenging. The animations really took it to the next level for me, they were SO GOOD!

Awesome game! I've played platformers where you switch worlds like this before but I've never seen it done like this where you have to memorize the entire map in the other dimension, I thought that was neat. I found some exploits, though, where you could win a couple of the levels pretty easily by going outside of the map for a second. Cute aesthetic and a fun little story. Great job!

Nice platformer, the sfx and color palette really brought me back! I think the gameplay could be improved. As a few other commenters mentioned, it's not super clear that you need a certain amount of coins to beat a level. It was challenging enough to be rewarding when you beat the first level, but due to the level design on level 2 it felt like you have to die sometimes to find where the coins are and having to restart the entire game when that happens was a little frustrating -- it would be nice if you just restarted at the beginning of the level you're on. Unfortunately didn't make it past level 2 but I would be excited to see the other worlds!

This game looks very similar to some other games you've developed. It's not really in the spirit of a game jam to upload a game you've already developed with different art. Keep doing game jams though and use it as a place to experiment and see what new ideas you can build in a short amount of time.

Sweet game! Haven't seen this mechanic in a sokoban game before. More than a lot of the other entries, it was nice to see the theme really integrated into everything from the story to the gameplay to the color scheme itself.

Nice take on a snake game and I thought the theme interpretation was really unique! It felt like there was some delay in the movement or maybe even some missed inputs, especially after evolving kota (which I thought was a neat mechanic).

Amazing entry! Can't believe how polished it was. The art, gameplay, and music were all so great and unique, I don't know how you thought to have a waving checker pattern indicate the water but that was perfect. Couple things could be improved: as someone else pointed out, there were some areas without collision and the outline on the text was missing some pixels. Other than that, this felt really complete for a game jam game that was made in a week, so huge props to you!

Clever interpretation of the secondary theme, really creative stuff!

Great game! We were also inspired by Ozymandias for our game so it's cool to see someone else do a similar interpretation even though our games are so distinct.

Catchy tune and a nostalgic-feeling pinball game. Loved the details like the sails being bouncy and the ship wheel spinning! Great job!

Glad you liked it! We're hoping it feels similar to classic Gameboy pinball games while still feeling unique with the exploration aspect, so it's nice to hear that it translated well for you.

Thanks for the screenshot, that's super helpful as we update the map! Glad you found it interesting! We've gotten a lot of feedback about the difficulty and we'll be prioritizing making it easier to get the hang of things before introducing more challenging areas.

Thanks for the honest critique! Our interpretation of the theme was that this old civilization (shown in the intro) was "old gold" but we ran out of time to implement the full idea into the gameplay. Appreciate the feedback about easing players into the controls too, that's something we'll keep in mind as we continue working on the game :)

The art department (me) for sure allocated too much time to that intro and not enough to the game itself but we're super happy with how the intro turned out and excited to flesh out the actual levels more in the next update!

Good callout on the crash you found - we'll get that fixed in our next update! Appreciate all the kind words too :)

Thanks for the comment! Definitely would have liked to put more time into connecting the story we set up in the intro to the gameplay itself. Definitely learned a lot about time management during our first jam and hope to improve for the next one!

Probably the best interpretation of the secondary theme of any game I've played! The art was unique and I thought the color palette was clever, but I would have loved to see this embrace more of a gameboy aesthetic, both visually and in the gameplay.

One of the best games of the jam for sure! I was pretty bad at it and got soft locked like a lot of times lol. Other than that, really polished and such a unique story concept! Great use of the color palette too it felt like there were 100 colors.

The color change was cool and the graphics overall were great! Loved the sound effects. This was a fun and unique pinball game!

GREAT game! Might be the most polished game I've played so far it felt like a completely finished game. Really played like some classic Gameboy pinball games like Pokemon Pinball and Kirby's Pinball Land. OBSESSED with the water effect on the start screen, that was so good! Loved this game, thanks for making it!

Really felt like a classic game! Everything from the music and sound effects to the gameplay itself was really nostalgic. Would love to see how you expand on this!

The boss battles were super fun and challenging, and the game overall really felt like a Gameboy game, nice job! LOVED the fact that hitting the trees sounded different, too, that was such a nice detail!
