Hello this is prob a dumb question but how do you click out of a location? Like if i entered the furniture garage how do I leave it because I can not figure it out....

I couldnt ask in discord so I will ask here. I was playing the game and realized that actions that would grant me a heart with the characters are not giving me a heart and so some event are locked out for me. I tried restarting again but the problem is still there. Any ideas on what to do?
