hi! I'm really curious about this game system, but $30 is a bit much for me to spend while barely knowing the content of what I'm buying. have you considered making a demo version of the game system for free so people can get a taste of how the system works first? I've seen other TTRPGs offer demos consisting of the most basic rules and a few of the most basic playbooks, just enough to hook people without giving away the whole system.
if you have thought about it before, and don't want to release a demo, I get it. but in that case, could you at least share how many pages the rules PDF is, and maybe a little more about how the Links System works mechanically (or add one of the pages explaining the basics as a preview image here on the game's page)? I've played other PbtA games before and I'm really curious how this one differs, I just can't justify a kind of blind purchase right now, so I was hoping to hear a little more about the game first!
Another ttrpg, called Glitter Hearts ( https://gleather.itch.io/glitter-hearts ) ! My friends really wanted to be magical girls, haha.
Tried this the other day and really enjoyed it! It's spooky, and the atmosphere is excellent, but not actively scary, which made it the perfect tone for me playing alone in a room with (almost) all the lights off, and having fun without totally freaking myself out. I also used these three ambient noise generators to really set the tone, haha. The prompts are fantastic, and I enjoyed figuring out how to connect them into an ongoing tale that culminated in the ending I got.
Admittedly, I never had an issue with the Deep Hunter getting anywhere close to catching up to me, but I might've just gotten lucky!
Played this game with a group of friends to create a city for us to set another game in, and it was super fun! Really was useful for creating a city where everyone felt invested in it and knew what was going on, and gave them a chance to introduce some interesting elements to the city that I, as the GM for the game we're going to use our city for, never would've considered otherwise.
We probably played it a little fast and loose compared to the intention of some of the rules, but everyone had a great time with it, and I super recommend Street Magic both on its own, but also for how it invites worldbuilding and player contributions for use in another game afterward!
