It's defnitely worth making something similar, once you make the basic data structure and system, it becomes super easy to implement and add new mods and abilities!

Absolute gem of a game! super relaxing sfx and very well polished! Loved just gobbling up all the dirt!

thanks so much for the in depth feedback! I really should have  taken the time to put modulators on my stuff at least, but I just ran out of time and got my final submission in 30 minutes before the jam ended. I’ll definitely prioritize it next time though, thanks!

Thanks for playing! so the if mods do work, but I failed to make it intuitive. they were subsequences that you can put mods into and only run that subsequence if the condition is met. Also I do really like the suggestion of changing the speed and will probably add that feature!

Great suggestions! I had plans to implement a health regen card, but only had 30 minutes left to submit once I added the land mine card and didn't want to push it. As far as card variety goes, I had plans for players to be able to sell unwanted cards and buy better cards, but just didn't have time.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, the bots used to have a third of the health they do now, but it ended up feeling cheap in the late game because it was super easy to one shot everything by nesting and mods, which is a feature that I personally enjoy, but didn't want to happen until later in the game, hence every character in the game being super tanky at the beginning.
(P.S. try loading up a bunch of attacks inside of one and mod and remove movement and looking entirely for level 4. He always attacks from the front, so as long as you can dump more attacks on him before he hits his big combo, you should win)

Thanks! Yeah, the original idea was for the player to be able to sell mods they don't want and buy more expensive mods they do want, but I just didn't have the time to put in that feature.

Yooooo I did the behavioral loops thing too, but mine was an autobattler, this is actually such a cool concept and I'd like to see it fleshed out a little more in a larger game!

Didn't know what to expect becausee the page was blank, but I was thoroughly impressed by the inventory system and the graphics. Sometimes my sword wouldn't hit the enemies, but that seemed like more of a skill issue on my part than anything else, fun game!

@knockowt I really wanna play this but am stuck on the loading screen after I click play, it's stuck halfway and I've got an absolute monster of a PC, but I wonder if something else might be the problem with my setup, is that problem happening for you?

Had a great time with this one! Loved all the sound effects of the guy chopping wood and stuff! Finally figured out how to place roads consistently, but once I did, my little guy would just despawn for some reason, not sure why tho.

Yep, that's a little bit of the gameplay and storyline vibe I am trying to get at! The actual mechanics of playing it though do deviate towards something more like "Stories Untold" and "Duskers" though

yeah, the best way to get out of the grip is mashing, but if you wait a while and don't get dragged off the edge, you'll be fine a lot of the time and he'll let you go

yeah, just make sure you aren't grabbed by one when it gets hit because you'll both go flying!

yep, if you kite the drones into a lightning strike they do explode and give you a ton of point
