i've been having reports of this crash since launch and me and the godot community just cant find the cause

seems to be an irrational symptomless crash with no errors or issue logging, so ive just been trying weird things each patch since an irrational bug needs an irrational fix

Oops, the discord link ingame was a temporary one and expired, i'll try to push out a shadow update with a permanent link

Klee: koya and I had a discussion today on this and mhm, we agree she probably needs some tweaks. Her most distinguishing gamefeel feature is her normal attack, but atm it's just a bit too restricting, and not rewarding enough, on top of this her minefield passive just doesnt make sense and makes proper spacing even harder. We wrote up a GDD about klee adjustments and i'll hopefully have them implemented for a 1.04 patch

Input Lockout: yep, you cannot use Q or E while your character is 'occupied', this doesnt apply to guoba or oz as they arent the player character. Normally this is fine i think, but with the addition of automatic normal attack settings, it's very confusing. I'll likely make it so normal attacks no longer cause input lockout

Fischl: her Q is meant to slowly rotate towards the cursor, and constantly move forward. There was a bug where sometimes it would rotate the long way around to point at the cursor, i thought i fixed it but sounds like i didnt

Items: we have lots of precious items planned, surprised to hear you want a pickup range item though, i feel like it has a bit of a strange spot in PQ, never really being worth a slot, i'm not sure if picking up exp makes much sense as a mechanic in PQ, i'll have to give it thought

Item display: Already a thing, i made it a bit more noticable in 1.03, i guess i should add a tutorial pointing it out, alot of people are missing it

okay both bugs have been fixed, i'll push them in as shadow fixes on a new PQ 1.03, i'll delete these comments tomorrow

This place is fine for it, but i did add a discord server in 1.03 that's prob the best place for discussion of this kindo stuff

1: noted, can be tweaked if needed, i'll keep an eye out
2: It's mostly useful in earlygame for damage, but it's consistently useful for its unique ICD, knockback, and low cost meaning it can trigger CA effects easily, also i'm surprised to hear you value the exp passive, i thought it was giga undertuned myself
3: we'll wait until there's more stages before adding more elemental roadblock enemies, but mhm it is planned

Never crossed our minds before, we didn't really set out with the expectation of user made content or patches, this is our first project after all, but i guess there wouldnt be harm in it. Maybe if there's demand for it? I'm in no hurry to go figuring out how to set that up though, we still have to find our playerbase

yup! the godot engine natively supports windows, linux, and mac exports, so i've just been waiting for people to ask for it

other problem is testing for other platforms is hard, but thankfully my PC is a steam deck with linux dual boot so i can actually test it myself

Publicity is probably the most important thing for a small team like ours, so i'm putting updating PQ on the backburner while I learn about social media~!

Also this feels a li'l bad to say, but I dont like the yellow alien, I want them to be as cute as the rest of the game! Give me super cutesy kirby-like enemies like that eyeball one~! Yellow boy just has a lot going on

as for feedback; i'm a bit confused on what ends a stage, I feel like I want to focus on combat since that's what gives me pretty shiny stars and bones to buy upgrades, but this (randomly generated?) stage 2 seems to want me to parkour my way right, pressing buttons to activate (very slow) moving platforms, I end up dying once I return to the normal playing area that is now swarmed by too many enemies to manage in the very small space. Am I meant to stay still and wait for that timer to empty, or try to find some exit to the right? it's unclear

Woah this game experiments with soo many novel game mechanics for the genre, i'm very impressed with the amount of depth at play here

Already have plans to add an automatic normal attack option, i'll note down number hiding, should be easy to add.
As for balance, mhm Mondstadt is more difficult than what is planned at the moment, since it is the only stage, i'll keep an eye on people's opinions on the current game balance

Let us know what you'd like to see here, right now I'm particularly curious about what platforms you'd like to see Paimon Quest available on, such as Mac, Linux, and Web (maybe even mobile but that takes a LOT of work)

In the future I miight be willing to listen in on what characters you guys would like to see wink wonk

Known Bugs

  • Effects: Game Crash, game does not save
  • Cause: unknown, platform specific?

I haven't been able to replicate this, i'm working with some people to get some error logs so I can diagnose it, but it seems both hardware specific, and inconsistent;  i'm told that it may not be realistic to fix.

  • Effects: 10 minute boss doesnt spawn
  • Cause: unsure

Maybe patched in 1.02? mathematically this issue shouldn't be possible so i'm not totally sure
