The overhealing is fully intentional. If you read through the instructions page again, you'll note that they stated a victory condition of reaching 50 hp.

I quite enjoyed this game.
I would love to see how it would turn out without the restrictions of a game jam.
If you do turn it into a full game, it would be nice to see a log of actions that occured. Particularly appreciated when there are multiple things triggering per turn and you don't have all of the cards memorized by art yet. Also, the ability to see what is in each player's trash pile might be appreciated.
