I'm betting on the wrong rendering engine - after starting the game, use the Shift+G shortcut and select the appropriate one from the list that appears.
I guess the author was delayed ;) April has passed and there's no new update. Oh well, we waited over 90 days, we can wait a little longer :(
First, check the renderer. This is done by pressing Shift+G.
