Nice game, although I found it a little too short. Timer was an excelent addition, pushing me to try to complete the game and not focus on slowly killing enemies. Small suggestion - when the enemy shoots, make them shoot after fixed time rather than when the bullet is destoyed (if a player gets too close to the enemy, he looses in almost an instant). I liked the soundtrack - simple yet effective. Good work!
Another thing - I saw assets listed in a .txt file, it would be much simpler to just list them on the game page
Fun game, I really enjoyed the radiation bar since in the begining of the game it gave a sense of urgency. And later after i picked up suit i had like 80% towards death and for the rest of the game I was constantly looking at how much more I have left.
One bug I encountered was that the meter started before I read the tutorial (I opened the game and left it playing in the background and then I started the game dead)
Great game! Same as a person below me I also advocate for some visual feedback about ghosts taking damage, since it seemed slightly random for me - I would fend off a ghost from top faster than the ones from sides. Also I would like to admit I kinda panicked when after staying in a corner for a while I ran towards the middle of the map and found dozens of ghosts
For your first game It is remarkable - simple mechanics and easy to follow narrative. If I would have changed something it would be two things - make enemy health bar appear only after you flashed at them enough time (then it would be harder to notice them) and make finishing game not quit to desktop (add something like end screen or something similliar).
Interesting idea and execution, although I got killed twice due to certain circumstances - ghost appeared within wall in a narrow corridor and got to me before i could react properly, and It also appeared in the Storage room where I flashed at it, but it wasn't detected since there were boxes between me and the ghost.
Overall I do not have anything bad to say about this game - it's short and simple.
If it was made for browser it no doubt would be higher than currently is.
I hope this will end up in high 20% of the results
I think the idea is neat and interesting, but I have some issues with execution:
- Pixel Art is not sharp and is blurry to an eye
- Player movement looks weird, (especially the knees)
- I needed to look up the guide to unlock the SAFE (simple hint on how it works or just visual clue would be much apprecieated) + effects for the safe were too silent
- The game doesn't have a title screen (which bothered me the most, when after finishing first ending i got booted back to the desktop)
- On the Bad Ending Graphic i saw a coursor in the bottom right corner
- Controls weren't shown in game (which they should have been)
But i also praise certain aspects:
- Overall sound design was good keeping the atmosphere on the right level
- All 'minigames' were simple to figure out and complete (exception beeing the SAFE one)
- I liked that you included both good and bad ending
- Story is simple, not convoluted and just right for this type of game
Extra points for including helpfull description on your game page
But to conclude - since you are beginners I think that most of the problems listed are simply due to inexperience, I hope this 'review' will help you on your future endeavors
