No its im pretty sure its mainly gen 3 I'm not too sure tho I have'nt gotten that far
I still haven't finished i spent like the first 2 days on the game shiny farming my starter and the beldum gift you get, currently shiny farming ralts
Start a sprint once you finish the fight immediately it should help
You can just soft reset, it took me sometime but I was able to get a shiny Treecko last night, now I'm working on Beldum before I continue with the rest of the game.
Is this the area at the very beginning of the game?
