Hey, thanks for the response! and thanks for your patience in mine - being a full time dad during the summer is a big time engagement.

So I'm working on making an itch page for my game soon. It's called Scratch. You try to score the lowest you can on any given hole (like real golf haha) It plays on 3.5 x 5.5 cards. Each card is a hole. You choose Driver, Iron, or Wedge depending on the shot, roll some dice, and where they land tells you your distance and whether you pushed or pulled it. Land in the sand, you lose your Driver. Land in the trees, you're stuck chipping out. Same kinds of decisions as real golf in a sense. I wanted it to be a fun accessible simulation type game.

Congrats on GenCon 2027 release! That feels pretty big time.

Yeah, I'm learning that each game has their own journey and there are no hard and fast rules. I'm trying to learn from as many successful game designers as possible. I want to share games with people and I have so many more ideas on deck. The hardest part is building an audience and I'm not trying to become a social media content creator to do it - its just not in my wheelhouse and I know it would burn me out.

I've been reddit posting about things in my game like the design process and have been appreciating the feedback I've gotten. I'm also trying to do some devlog type posts for people who are into that. But yeah finding golfers who play games is not the easiest and idk how many gamers woould be into golf simulation games.

I like the idea of the Facebook groups. I may start do some engaging on there. What kind of engagement did you do? Play other people's games and give feedback?

Did you ask those folks on YouTube to review it or they just happened to do it organically?

Hi Gregg, while building my own PnP game  (a golf themed solo dice game) I have been rummaging through a lot of gaming subreddits. And I always see Galdor's Grip come up (especially when someone is asking for a first PnP recommendation). Then I come to itch and see people translating your rules into German, Korean, Portuguese on their own initiative. Someone saying they play it at work while waiting for feedback. A guy who's been asking for editable files just so he can make his own low-ink version. The community you've built has me floored.

With my game, I'm trying to figure out how to get it in people's hands which is seemingly more difficult than it sounds. I'm curious what your methods were to get your game(s) in front of people? How much intentional effort went into that and what avenues did you put that effort into to make it a reality? It seems like discovery isn't just a passive thing that happens once you post your game.

Really appreciate your time reading this -- looking forward to hearing from you!
