I think I love this game a little too much actually.

If this doesn't get a steam release with more maps, guns, and advanced leaderboard, I'm going to do something bad. Just kidding but still!!! PLEASE? please.

(1 edit)

pretty cool but honestly I don't wanna deal with it to get through all the levels lol.

I kinda wish the banjo music had more variation to make it more interesting... also the difficulty spike feels- kinda way too rough from like 3 to 4 and onward. soo.

nice job but I lack the patience today XD

Wow. I am grateful for my sense of rhythm now.

This feels very inspired by that ONE rhythm game which idk what it's called but y'know. WOOO AWESOME

dude that leaderboard is actually a mad scientist move, instantly made me replay  it like 8 more times lmao how dare you

Thanks!
I feel kinda awkward about putting my pixel art character in an HD scene lol but oh well
... next time I'll draw the tiles pixel art too...

Okay lol fiiiine
I say stubbornly
even though
I am extremely excited to hear there is a demo of the game

Agreed, I noticed the timer after a few runs until I found it for the first time going up. (to which Gary the Scary destroyed me) Would be helpful if you could see the timer 24/7

Hmmmmm...

I honestly can't fully remember what happened. I have a feeling it's one of those EXTREMELY specific bugs where you get to use terminology like "client" and "server", but... all I remember is that as I was going into the hidden area to the left of spawn, I was running into enemies and pushing them without taking damage (also they didn't seem to notice me) and I couldn't collect the double jump after opening the chest.
Maybe my hitbox got hit elsewhere somehow?
Oddly enough, Gary the Scary seemed to know where I was and attacked at me directly. Though, His attacks didn't do any damage.

Oh right, there's a bug where when you hit an enemy for the first time after launching the game, the freeze frame is WAAAAAYY too long.

Also you can fall out of bounds. But that's fine since attacking off the map still ends the game lol.

This game is ridiculously charming lmao. I am 16, I didn't have the chance to play much ps2 or Nintendo 64, but even still, this gives me an extremely distinct vibe.

the attack (and moving in general) is actually ridiculously juicy. Makes me think I would LOVE ultrakill if I finally got around to playing it.

The voice lines lmao. I don't even have to say anything for that, you know those are awesome.

(By the way, I noticed the shameless plug)

I hope to see this show up in the GMTK winners!

PS. I thought that the "loop" part was in perpetually making sequels lmao. That's how strong of a vibe I'm getting.

The ONLY thing I found myself wishing, was that the death sequence maybe had a couple extra possible voice lines, and the ending sequence when you get to the top has another ending. Also maybe something happens if you actually stay in the cage.

But I might as well be saying that the only problem with this game is that there isn't more of it. ... maybe reruns and reboots have merit...

Thanks lol. It's an old username haha, glad to see another Sean out on the battlefield ╰(‵□′)╯

LMAOOO THE OPTIONS

anyways yes
This is fun. I reaaaally liked this. The animations are ACTUALLY INSANE BRUV
Dawg you made a metroidvania for a game jam
you're insane
Anyways, though, couple things. Sometimes the loop doesn't reset exactly the same. So one time I'd speedrun to the dash ability and there would be no enemies in the way, other times there would be. Not sure if it's intentional, but if it is, I would rather KNOW it was changing in this way.
the items you can collect in the chests are cool, but I found myself not knowing what they did lol. Pretty sure the clover... extends the time you have? ummm... tiny bit unsure on that lllolll

Speaking of the chests, when I first made it to the dash ability, I somehow didn't realize I had to hit the chest to open it (partly because I read the "press shift to dash", before I realized it was a chest...). Maybe it would be nice if the items were just... there, and you could collect them normally?

also. I cheated. I got a bug somehow that made me invincible. I have no clue how, but it made the boss significantly easier lol

AMAZING job brothers

Thanks haha

maybe I'll change it so that an icon pops up telling you that you can quit to menu lol
that would kinda suggest that you really are at the end of the game...

This is a fun idea!
I kinda found out you can use a Crossroad to sent the king back and forth on the same few blocks infinitely, and he just got stuck like that lol. Which turns out to be kinda game breaking because I can surround him in power blocks 24/7, which took me to round 5 without doing very much...
I wish there was something else to complicate it maybe?
Perhaps the king HAS to get to certain squares or the villagers will perish. I dunno...

The Icons can be hard to discern from each other at a distance, like food and wood, or stone and gold tiles.

I actually really like this idea though!

Pretty fun!
The characters around the office remind me of... uh, The Office.
I did find myself wishing there could be some kind of level select so I didn't have to redo everything again. Or maybe once you destroy enough objects it would automatically move to the next day.
I think I got sent out of  bounds a few times which basically forced a loss on day 2 haha. I'd try to destroy an object on one of the desks (Bottom left), and suddenly I'm just clipping through the wall.
overall nice job!

Thank you!! although... I regret to inform you that you have played the entire game LMAO
Unless if you didn't try pressing space while falling. It plays a little sound. Think Booping freddy's nose in fnaf 1 levels of excitement.

I kinda wish now that I made a way to exit to main menu from the falling scene. That.. would've been smart... (... oh well...)

Thank you!! I’m happy with how the sfx and music turned out :) although at the end of development, in the place of music there was this eerie wind sound effect that was way cooler lol

sorry- there’s no way to win lol

In hindsight I really should have put that in the description. But when I add more to this, a win condition should be coming! Hopefully.
