You can disable the quest window in the options screen (it's incomplete, so you won't miss much).

Patch 1.1: I forgot to add conditions to one of the story events (causing a skip in the start of the third chapter)!

Very very nice! Sea Sight is absolutely up my alley, I love the instrumentation and lulling ambience.
