IndieCade info:

Artistic Statement / Use of Theme
A singular bottle, a singular piece of garbage, thrown away carelessly; becomes a seed for an ever-growing garbage pile. While the theme is to plant a seed - Our focus is on “Don’t plant this seed.” Our hope is to inspire people to keep their places clean and take every bit of litter seriously. I was inspired by the posts and pollution awareness campaigns sharing “Just one bottle, Just one wrapper” was said by 8 billion people.

Development Summary
The design for this game has evolved much since the start of the jam, to a full-fledged commercial game. While the game developed in the jam only has added combat from the original idea, we have since planned out many features. It was surprising to see how many ideas and specific mechanics everyone came up with. However it has been still difficult to pen down a proper design, converting the abstract thoughts to paper, which I have yet to complete. My team is competent and skilled. Once I am able to delegate a task, they go above and beyond to bring it to fruition, although I am still learning leading and delegation.

(optional) Release Plan
At the moment we basically have a proof of concept in the build. We have also completed the general design of the game, and are ironing out the technical details. We are looking towards making a Vertical Slice next, and launching a Steam page. For marketing we will use organic reach on social media, including by using personal branding; as well as outreach to streamers and playtest events.

(optional) Further Development Plan
We are planning to expand types of garbage pieces, types of NPCs (including ones that help in cleanup, creating a push and pull), incremental unlocks of gear and stationary positions according to the map on our page, and lean towards a tycoon and collectathon style game.

I can't believe I haven't commented here! This was a fun game to play, especially the movement. The music overlays were fun too

Thank you so much!

You can use butler (https://itch.io/docs/butler/) to upload more than 1 GB. Interesting lucid dream to play through, I really hope you guys get to optimize it because then it'd be super fun to play for me!

fun to hop around in but confusing otherwise, also its hard to pick up the plants, it takes me several tries.

Definitely interaction hitboxes, or whatever the interaction mechanism is - needs a lot of work. The game is cute and so are the dancing flowers, you can definitely add more fantasy elements like https://www.friv.com/z/games/dorasmagicalgarden/game.html does if you want to go that way. The game seems interesting otherwise!

And yes I forgot to mention the cubes stretching like pulled spaghetti in the form 😅

Looking forward to updates in the game!

This was fun to play! Interesting game! Although I didnt know I have to make the crosshair green in first plant until I saw the video. Other than that its an easy to use control. Also the text boxes are not very readable if background is bright

I'd love to see future builds, this is quite interesting.

Lovely idea, horticulture + urban planning definitely improves the residents/students' views and experience of a place.

Hi! The theme was mentioned in GDD on the page but I will share it here too:

A singular bottle, a singular piece of garbage, thrown away carelessly; becomes a seed for an ever-growing garbage pile. While the theme is to plant a seed - Our focus is on “Don’t plant this seed.”

The game is growing nicely :)

I don't know if its my impatience but I tend to button mash at target piece while she's walking to it. Maybe an indicator that a piece is selected or already clicked on would help.

I have added the form! https://forms.gle/vLSkwGmW8XLHeYoT8

Hi everyone! feedback form has now been added! https://forms.gle/vLSkwGmW8XLHeYoT8

Thank you so much! We'll work on the form

a bit slower progression than i'd hoped but I fell asleep while playing this, woke up to so many nutrition that when I tried to use them to spam upgrades the game crashed lol. It wasn't clear when synthesize button got automated. And I am not sure what climate impact or message this game is supposed to have. Very pretty game tho, quite ferry halim like

Thanks!!

It is an interesting idea if pulled off well. This does feel more like a simulation than a game. Also the link for production plan isn't working. I guess its not public. So whats the gameplay here, is it like The Farmer? And what's the scope, other than the fixed location?

The concept is nice story-wise but I didnt understand the game from this.. nor the scope. "The player interacts with the web to find other communities/stores that are selling sustainable products." I don't understand this particularly...

And what are the mechanics, like is your game like a multi-choice/dynamic graphic novel like this https://lunastudios.itch.io/endless-spring-prologue

or is it like a papa louie game, or something else.. A reference game(s) would be super cool

prod plan seems incomplete

well the idea def has potential, esp if it touches on the sales side of things - selling sustainable products to a layman who may or may not care about sustainability is an intriguing point to explore. Rather than focusing on individual/personal decisions, you're focusing on impacting others' decisions, very cool! I do feel like it needs to be a bit more 'gamified' tho

aesthetic is kinda unclear but wow thats a detailed prod plan haha. cool concept, I was thinking that if the tree grows healthy it can start weakening the towers around it, forcing player to move them further out or smth as radius increases cuz an old tree in a house i previously lived in was trying to eat away wall and floor lol. but this is just an idea, may not be suited to your theme.

Also since you mentioned solarpunk, I'd love to see inspirations from this video:

Wow thats a lot of links! Interesting concept. Tho I am not sure what the specific learning for the player there is as each level seems to have different focuses and kinda unclear targets for real life action ..>>I may just be digging around for something, anything to give feedback on 😅😅

I hope your document gets some images as you guys iterate further :p And you likely need a more specific production plan

This looks fun! I didnt quite understand if its like a papa louie style game? Like camera wise or design wise - like whats the gameplay.

Thank you! I actually didn't use real world data, my focus was more on psychology, but this sounds interesting! I'll look into it.

I think there is a big mismatch between the speed - or time per week - at which you work and speed you expect from others. I did bring this up with you, especially after seeing the extensive amount of work you do in 4 days, and you said time will not be an issue. I should have communicated more as well, and done better work, I understand that is my fault.

It sounds like you also kicked out previous person after 4 days, is that why your previous teammates "stop replying"? You did not voice your concerns until you blocked me, which is why I have to speak here. I do not recall lying at any point. I don't know how you are expecting exclusivity for an unpaid project, nor was it mentioned anywhere. And I am not sure if I am the coward here or is it the one internalizing complaints until one blows up and blocks.

"and rather stay silent like a coward instead of talking like a reasonable human would do." - are you sure that is not you?

I am sorry... I did not mean to abandon project. I failed to work and communicate often enough or provide updates. I wish you good luck with your work.

This is quite a thorough document with an interesting idea! I can only speak more about the document that, I was wishing it has more images and links. For example the games you referred to could have been links, and there could have been reference images for art style etc -- but otherwise pretty good document! Good luck with the game!
