Why don't you allow 'M' to open the Map? The UI auto hide is pain in the ass and often times it gets confusing because it's easy to get lost in the city, the sewers and the Quest log is not always informative. But it would've been still better if I could open the Quest menu whenever I want. 

Update: Make 'Q' Menu pop up little more responsive, faster. Also remember it is somehow blocked when there is 'E' active interact available. 

One more thing. Keep menu nav and movement buttons separate. You can make it so that as soon as movement buttons are pressed menu goes away/auto hide but the actual menu navs are arrow keys or something else
