I cannot get the LOVE JavaScript viewer working on my laptop at all (none of the submitted games work for me) so I was reluctant to submit it blindly

Have you tried using the function keys to override the auto scaling? I wonder if something is causing a 0x scale.

Not a huge deal, but the top of the jam page states:

After the jam has finished, 7 days are given to everyone to try out the game submissions and vote for their favorites.

Meanwhile, the voting section says:

After the jam is over, three days are given for the public to vote on entries

I mean I’m the guy who commissioned woof to draw an ape escape NPC, who am I to judge

I’m currently stuck in an Apple support queue because I can’t access the control panel I need to to sign this binary. Modern Apple development can be such a pain…

Hmm, weird. I’ll try to get a build of the game up over the weekend with all the Gatekeeper stuff in it.

Does this occur even if you right click on the game and choose Open? As mentioned above in the download instructions, there wasn’t enough time in the submission window to notarize or sign the binary with an Apple-approved Developer ID, and this may cause your Mac to reject the game as untrusted unless you bypass it by explicitly opening it from the right click menu.
