I have read that book a little before, so I recognized the title, though I had to look up the author's name.

I think this was a pretty fun game, but I think as someone who writes, it was kind of hard for me, since having to keep track of things I'm supposed to add is something I am not used to. Also, Joseph Campbell?

I enjoyed playing this game, though I do have a suggestion if you choose to continue working on this. I don't know how hard this would be to add, but have it where the otters only do an action when that is their need. For instance, I noticed that when I filled the food bowl after an otter finished eating, they started eating it again, even if I moved them away. If you made it so that the otters would not eat unless their need was for food, that would make the game better. Another thing that would be nice is having the otters snap into a specific location, mostly for presentation reasons.

So, to leave town, you have to go to the inn. I have it where you sleep at the inn and then get teleported to the forest from there, since you are leaving there at dawn. There is also a tavern if you want to check that out and the rooms are on the second floor.

So, for anyone who wants to know, there are two different endings. Though I think postgame stuff is broken right now. I will give you some hints on where the paths diverge, so spoiler warning:

So, firstly, whether you get the thing left in your room or not can change the ending automatically.

And second, whether or not you choose to talk in the tavern cutscene determines your final route.

Bonus hint: There are differences in the dialogue in the Tavern if you do or don't do the first hint.

Hope this helps, since I did have this in-game, but the part it's in is currently broken.

Yeah, I'm going to fix the crashing after the game jam. I had to remove some files to get the game to be small enough. You can totally make it to the end without buying any items. At level seven, you should be able to beat the boss without any items. If you really wanted a challenge, you could try going low level by running from everything, but I don't suggest that unless you are at least level three by the time you get to the tower, since in my testing with my playtester, that was the lowest level they were able to beat the golems on.

Thank you so much. I made this using entirely the RPG Maker MZ RTP, just getting an addon for the health bars. I have the credit for that at the end of the game.
