Math jumpscare! I don't know what is happening on the left side of the screen and I'm too afraid to ask. The lizard is cute though and the game has some interesting ideas. Game balance seems to be pretty good. Killing the lizard if you don't reach the goal is brutal.
Sorry, the game might be out of focus. So it doesn't get the inputs. Try clicking on the game screen with your mouse when it starts. Or it might be broken... Sorry, again.
One of the few games that I came back to beat again. Just an enjoyable experience. The music maybe doesn't fully fit the game. Great song on it's on, though.
That was fun! Quickly removing the spikes and dashing and jumping at the same time was thrilling! Very nice difficulty level too. It wasn't easy, but not so hard that I would have to restart the level multiple times.
You are both right. I definitely should have made the game telegraph what will happen better. I spent most of the time animating and drawing and only made the game a few hours before the deadline. I didn't give myself any time to change anything. But I'm glad that you liked the art!
That was kind of my understanding of retro theme, making a game more difficult and unforgiving like a retro arcade game. That maybe wasn't the best choice. Now I think I should have added an additional mode with check points. I should have also made the game telegraph what will happen better.
Thank you! Yeah, the visual indicator like a button pop up for the first action is a great idea! I didn't want to add the checkpoints because of the retro theme, to make the game more like Dragon's Lair. The game is also pretty short. Just 1 minute. But maybe I should have.
Thank you! Sorry, I agree the game is too difficult and the lack of indicators is from the lack of time. But I just added a gif in the description with hints of what to press. If you still want to finish it.
Sorry, I'm not sure I can help. It works for me. Try pressing with mouse on the screen of the game when the game starts. It might not be getting the inputs. I hope this will help.
I also added the gif with hints of what to press. Green shows in which direction to press after the sound signal.
That was fun! Using rooms to build a level and then clear it or move the room you're in to the end of the level felt unique and exciting. It's a pity there are only two levels. I would love to play more.
