are the skill checks for scheduled events randomized or will NPCs always check the same skills at the same times in every playthrough?

This is a known issue, it'll be fixed in the next update (which is now on the 30th)

Is there any benefit or easter egg for holding off in the shower or is that just to extend the scene?
