My Record so far:
4 Days, 20 Hours, 51 Minutes, 5 Seconds
Thanks so much for the feedback! I totally see what you mean. In the next update, I’ll bump up the number of Hackbots needed to unlock the Callcenter, but the permanent Hackbot cost will be gone — so unlocking it should feel a lot better!
The idea behind raising the requirement a bit is that the first Callcenter will basically be a freebie, since it's the only way to start producing Dollars. And because Dollars are the top-tier currency in the game, I want to make sure they don't pop up too early in the progression.
Thanks for the feedback! You're right — the game currently doesn't save when the browser tab is closed. It saves every 100 seconds and on "Quit" (but requires a reload to apply the offline bonus). Browser optimization is still pending, but the next patch will add auto-save on tab close and auto-load on return.
Are you referring to the extension of the countdown by adding centuries?
Yes, that does make the game longer. However, your progress shouldn't be lost because of it. The growing multipliers should still be active and continue to accelerate your progress.
I had previously finished the game in 1d10h — much faster than intended. Since the game is still in its alpha phase, there will likely be more balancing patches in the future. That’s why the centuries were added.
But don’t worry — there will soon be another way to speed up your progress ;)
Thanks for your feedback.
Please keep in mind that this is an idle game. It's normal that there's not always something to do. The idea is more that you log in from time to time to buy more generators and then let the game progress automatically.
I do like your ideas for minigames though...
I've also thought about adding small minigames. However, this isn't a simple or quick task. That said, it's definitely possible that something like that might be added in the future.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
The game's flow balancing is still far from finalized and will continue to evolve in the future. My goal is for a casual gamer to complete the game in about a week, with a noticeable sense of progression throughout.
I'm still actively testing myself and share your impression that the pace needs to be sped up a bit.
Currently, the main progression mechanism works like this:
The multiplier after a MindUpdate increases password generation. This allows you to buy more email addresses, which in turn halves the blackmail costs. As a result, you can afford significantly more server farms.
Progression through server farms is not linear but occurs in bursts. After (currently 60) server farms, the countdown jumps from seconds to minutes, creating a massive boost with each additional farm.
I will add more upgrade options in the future.
As a quick fix, however, the number of server farms required for a time unit jump will be halved. Starting with version 0.5 (which i will hopefully release today), you’ll only need 30 server farms (instead of 60) to feel a significant boost.
It still needs to be tested whether this will require further adjustment.
Prestige works as follows:
Each time the countdown ticks down by one unit (minutes, hours, days, etc.), the "Transcendence this life" value increases. For a minute that passes, it increases only slightly; for an hour, it increases more, and so on.
After an "Upload Mind" reset, this then increases the multiplier for each password gain in the next life.
