just fab! beautiful art, and the character dynamics felt spot on. sad and complicated, which felt true to the watchmen universe. a few small grammar and spelling errors, but i'm so impressed with the story and dialogue!! i want a happier ending for all these sad people :( i really like that the key to getting the better ending was dan standing his ground, not letting rorschach have his way. no compromise!! thank you for posting this so i can see it and your beautiful art for free??? kind of insane!!
Super duper excited to jump into this! The art is already blowing me away, and it's easy to see the improvements in formatting/flow from the playtest version. The confidants, especially, are so cool???
Quick question, any word on the 'Magical Sandwich' stretch goal content? I don't see it on the 'things to come' list above but if it's in the main game text, I totally missed it!
Apothecaria is everythinggggg I've introduced multiple friends to the game so we can play it together. I think I've been tricked into writing a short story and honestly I'm having a great time. The discord community is also active and thriving if you have questions or just want to meet other witch characters across dimensions :)
I'd also recommend checking out:
1. Patchwork Potions by bespoketacle (a series of prompts inspired by this game to flesh out your village and relationships, perfect to whip out during downtime sessions)
2. Village Witch and Build A Witch by Kestrel Eliot (Build a Witch is amazing for creating magical characters, and includes some sample witches to fuel your imagination or populate the world; Village Witch has some great prompts to give any witch a 'problem of the week', especially the Major Arcana prompts)
3. The oracles from Iron Valley by M. Kirin (I use them constantly. You can roll for everything from villager aesthetics and gender to the weather. The base game is pay-what-you-want here on itch.io, and the oracles can be rolled online on Chartopia.)
This game also has plenty of fun expansions, which you can find on itch.io or on Anna Blackwell's Patreon.
Iron Valley is so cute, so colorful, so trans rights, so anti-capitalist. It's truly the chill, relaxing, full of love game we all need sometimes. It's super duper that it's name your own price, accessibility rules! That said, I did pay real money for this, and I use the oracles all the time for everything and every game.
This solo ttrpg is so peaceful and calming, and I just adore the tarot-themed prompts. I highly recommend getting the entire bundle! I use the Build-A-Witch expansion literally every time I want to make any kind of magical character, and the sample witches included? It's free real estate! It's free NPCs!
