how about advanced crafting in future development?
(in example: for wood cube, get 3 wood scraps together and add a biochem on them, or firstly add the biochem on the each wood scrap and weld them together(like lego pieces) to make a wood cube for flimsy knife) making tools. Or even start a minigame to make a fire into Campfire with firestarter(other thing),if Player fast and clumsy while crafting, means a tool/utility will be crafted with less durability(depending on how much one of materials had been damaged, with clumsiness).
(If tool marked with:a chance of "minor failure", can start a minigame, but with deadline of 1:30 minutes & seconds (1 minute maybe, depends on how many ingredients used in crafting, like 2:30 minutes & seconds if there is more than 6-8 ingredients). as i mentioned earlier, fast & clumsy with materials in crafting minigame = less durability), would be harder for the gameplay, but more realism and less gamble. (i could suggest to start a minigame once if crafting an item for the first time(per new run of course) to make the same tools without minigame starting but that could be too much, especially in critical situations, so i suggest to add them only if an item have a chance of "minor failure")
