As for cozy fantasy (which, everybody, let's be clear, THIS IS NOT), every genre is what the readers want it to be. I don't begrudge anyone their "starting a cupcake shop with my sassy talking cat" books, and I hope no one begrudges me my "messy bisexuals dealing with their mental health while cooking and gardening" books, haha. There's room for everything in the book world.
