Why is this game free, btw? This was one of the best games I’ve played this year—and I play a lot of games.
I don’t know if there are any plans for a Steam release, but there definitely should be. Some of my favorite aspects might sound a bit unusual, but the sound design and the attention to atmosphere completely hooked me so much. The gasps, the eerie SFX at the right moments made everything more engaging. The "lack" of any "what the hell am i doing here" guidance, only through some texts at checkpoints, combined with simple controls and mechanics, works really good as well and feels intentional.
The only issue I had was with the grappling mechanic: you have to hold down the mouse button and keep it pressed for as long as you want to stay attached. For me, that’s a bit frustrating, since my mouse sometimes fails to register that I’m still holding the button, causing me to let go unintentionally.
Maybe this could be adjusted so the hook is released only with the right mouse button? It could also be added as an optional setting.
Anyway, I really miss this kind of inventive game design. The last games that gave me a similar feeling were Hylics, Undertale, and the Fear & Hunger series.
Great work—seriously. I would 100% buy this on Steam. I might even pick it up on itch.io, but please consider bringing it to more platforms!
